Revolution #265, April 8, 2012

Correction:

In the article “A Reflection on Piggery—Then and Now” in the print edition of Revolution #264, the photo caption for the Malcolm X photo at the top was inaccurate. As the article pointed out, the Nation of Islam launched a vicious personal slander campaign against Malcolm X, including directly saying he was “worthy of death.” On the day he was assassinated, the regular police suddenly left the scene, providing a clear field for the killers. At the same time, at least five FBI informants were in the room, and his main bodyguard was an agent of the NYPD. Whether or not NOI members who carried out the slander campaign were directly employed by the FBI, they created an atmosphere that allowed this kind of thing to go down.
