THIS IS A CRIMINAL SYSTEM
We need REVOLUTION—NOTHING LESS!
Here's what YOU can do now

August 4, 2013 | Revolution Newspaper | revcom.us

We do not need to live under this criminal system. We do not need to live in a world of exploitation of the people, and the planet. We do not need to live in a world of violent oppression—from drones in the Middle East to racist vigilante murder in Florida.

The way to change all that is REVOLUTION. Revolution is not only necessary, it is possible. It is time to build that movement for revolution.

Here's what YOU can do now:

  • Bob Avakian (BA) has developed a viable vision and strategy for a radically new, and much better, society and world, and is providing crucial leadership that is needed to carry forward the struggle toward that goal. Get into BA!—at revcom.us/avakian or your nearest Revolution Books.

Order, watch, and share the video BA Speaks: REVOLUTION—NOTHING LESS! Bob Avakian Live.

Read, study, and discuss BAsics, from the talks and writings of Bob Avakian—a book of quotations and short essays that speaks powerfully to questions of revolution and human emancipation.

Donate money to the campaign to project Bob Avakian's vision and works into every corner of society, BA Everywhere... Imagine the Difference It Could Make (online at revcom.us or send to RCP Publications address below). Arrange each month to give something. Be part of building this campaign—letting everyone know about and get into the new synthesis of communism that BA has brought forward and the leadership he's giving to the movement for revolution.

  • A big part of building the movement for revolution is: FIGHT THE POWER, AND TRANSFORM THE PEOPLE, FOR REVOLUTION. Expressions of outrage and anger over the verdict in the trial of Trayvon Martin's killer, or even other crimes of the system that take on additional importance in that light, will flare up in different ways, and unevenly. And the revolution—and people who long for a way out of this madness—need to be in the midst of this, leading people to struggle, and struggling with people to see the big picture, the problem and the solution.

People go through changes in many ways. One day people may block a freeway or take over Times Square in New York City. The next day a basketball tournament is suspended in honor of Trayvon. People who have had the verdict seared into their heads, or who have seen the film Fruitvale Station (about the 2009 transit police murder of Oscar Grant in Oakland, California) might not find instances of police harassment or brutality tolerable right now. In summer school classrooms, in laundromats, coffee shops, and barber shops, people are open to talking about the big questions of what's wrong with the world and how to change it in ways they are not always so open to doing. So let's be in the middle of that.

Even events called by organizations whose aim is to chill people out can become venues where the terms become changed—and the reality of a CRIMINAL SYSTEM and the need for REVOLUTION sets the terms, and boldly contends with other programs.

People are not in a mood to let the authorities silence, censor, or harass people demanding justice. In periods like today, there is a heightened importance to, and potential for, forms like the people's neighborhood patrols, which stand up against the illegitimate and unjust exercise of authority by the existing forces of repression.

Through all this, and more, thousands can be brought forward and oriented, organized, and trained in a revolutionary way, while beginning to reach and influence millions more, even before there is a revolutionary situation... and then, when there is a revolutionary situation, those thousands can be a backbone and pivotal force in winning millions to revolution and organizing them in the struggle to carry the revolution through.
