A call from a college student, to other students:

November 15—Cornel West and Bob Avakian Live—Don't Miss Out!

The title says it all. Revolution and Religion: The Fight for Emancipation and the Role of Religion; A Dialogue Between Cornel West and Bob Avakian. When I found out that this event was happening, I was overwhelmed with emotion. Overjoyed with the opportunity to listen to two of the most brilliant people of our time, and I was especially excited to see BA. I was amazed by the importance and significance of the topic. And, most of all, excited to be taking part in an event that will forever be marked in our revolutionary history books.

Every person who has ever felt frustrated, dehumanized, angered, hopeless, torn-down or even just annoyed by this system should attend this event. As a college student, I am ecstatic to be attending this Dialogue. Throughout my college career, I have found myself frustrated and disappointed by the discussions taking place on campus. University campuses should be a place to discover what the world truly is and broaden one’s outlook on what the world could be. In the past few years, I have felt a lack of enthusiasm, and a sense of disinterest, in discussing what the world is like and what this current system really does. Until recently. The horrific slaughter of Michael Brown has brought out the anger in so many. Many people, including those who would not consider themselves revolutionaries or even progressives, have been outraged. Finally, people have been coming together to talk and discover how fucked up this system is.

Now, more than ever, is the time to attend Revolution and Religion: The Fight for Emancipation and the Role of Religion. The opportunity to learn from Bob Avakian and Cornel West couldn’t have come at a better time.

Recognize the event for what it is: A profound moment in history with the potential to help put an end to this system and all the terrors it upholds. BA has extended upon and added to the science of revolution. I say science because that is what it truly is. Making revolution is not an opinion, or an idea, it is a science, rooted in years of research and use of the experimental method. This movement has the potential to succeed in getting rid of this system because of its scientific reason and the truth it holds about the world. Seeing BA live and hearing him talk is an opportunity to spread this science to the masses.

As a student, I am speaking to other students in particular. As young people, it is up to us to discover the truth that is revolution and ensure that revolution continues on. If you are in school to learn about the realities of the world and finding your place to make that reality change, you must attend this Dialogue! Learn about how the world can be different from the leader of the revolution himself! I know that I will be at this event because this is the chance of a lifetime. Don’t miss out! See you November 15!
