ACTIONS FOR MUMIA

Revolutionary Worker #981, November 8, 1998

In cities around the country, people immediately mobilized to protest the Pennsylvania Suprme Court decision on Mumia. On October 30, about 500 people rallied at Grand Central Station in New York City and marched to Times Square. Later, a contingent of Mumia supporters joined the annual Halloween parade in Greenwich Village. On the same day, more than 500 people rallied for Mumia in downtown San Francisco and marched down Market Street. Other cities where there were actions for Mumia on October 30 to November 1 included Cleveland, Los Angeles, Madison, Ann Arbor, Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Regional demos are being called for the weekend of November 7.

The International Concerned Family and Friends has called for a major demonstration in Philadelphia:

Saturday, November 7
Meet at City Hall (15th and Market) at 10 a.m.
March to the State Office Campus at Broad St. and Spring Garden Ave.
for 12 noon rally.
