From a reader:

Kenny Stills, wide receiver for the NFL (National Football League) Miami Dolphins, continued to take a knee during the national anthem at last week’s first pre-season game. Earlier in the week he criticized the Dolphins’ owner, Stephen Ross, for hosting a $250,000 per person fundraiser for Donald Trump.

Stills called out Ross, who runs a nonprofit organization that promotes sports equality—RISE, Ross Initiative in Sports Equality. Stills tweeted out, “You can’t have a non profit with this mission statement when you open your doors to Trump.”

Stills reported that he has received death threats after he called out Ross.

Stills may be the only NFL player left who continues to take a knee during the anthem in support of Colin Kaepernick, who was the first player to take a knee during the anthem in 2016 to protest police murder of and brutality against Black people.

After Stills took a knee at last week’s game, Kaepernick tweeted out, “My Brother @KSTiLLS continues to show his courage, morality, resilience and continues to take a knee!!! Keep going strong Brother!!!”
