| revcom.us

As we go to press—on Sunday, April 11, a 20-year-old Black youth was shot and killed by police during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. This is just10 miles from the Minneapolis courthouse where pig Derek Chauvin is on trial for the murder of George Floyd. According to a New York Times report, around 2 pm cops pulled over Daunte Wright, supposedly for a traffic violation. After the police fired at Wright, the car traveled about two blocks before it smashed into another car. Daunte Wright was found dead at the scene. His girlfriend, who was also in the car, was rushed to the hospital with injuries. According to local news reports, there were protests at the scene of the killing and at the police department headquarters that continued into the night. We will continue to cover these developments.
