I don't think that you need to be an expert in this history of communism to be able to go out and go out and fight for BA's statement out in the world and to get it engaged. What you do understand about what true in this new statement, you should go out and advocate for it, and as you do - we will learn more, as we fight for engagement, we will learn what people's questions & objections are.

But don't assume that you know everything that people are going to say, most people don't know shit about most things, definitely most people aren't experts on the history communism.

They may have heard things or repeated things. And if they brings things up, you can even ask them how they know those things, what their evidence is. Maybe they will be right on things, maybe they will be wrong and then you will have to investigate it yourself and you will learn in the process.

But the main challenge we should make is why is THIS system the one we should be living under?

I think how BA goes after it in this piece - No Wonder They Slander Communism is enlightening

I would say that it IS important to have a basic understanding of what was accomplished in Russia and China, what was learned and why those revolution didn't go all the way, and why they were turned backwards NOT JUST SO WE CAN ANSWER PEOPLE'S QUESTIONS OR DEAL WITH SLANDER but so we can get actually get to communism, uprooting all exploitation and oppression. If we don't understand this - And BA has done a 90 percent this work, how can we expect to go all the way?

Don't be intimidated by feeling like you have to be up to speed, it is complex but we can understand it.

I think is very important though it really go through and reflect on Points 6 page 25 - where he talks about "The need to not simply face reality but to consistently apply the principle that science and truth matters and therefore to seriously engage the scientific analysis of the problem facing humanity and the solution... it calls for willingness to apply this same approach that science and scientifically determined truth matter - to communism and the historical experience of the communist movement, and in particular the new communism.."

That's a scientific method - you go with what you know to be true and then you learn and go deeper as you go.
And so start with what you know, and ask questions to learn more.

Be curious and don't get overwhelmed by what you don't know, both about what you might run into and by reality is general. This seminars, and this forum can be a really good tool for all of us helping each other and learning together too.
