From Kimberly Vaughn, wife of Mohammad Isaifan, murdered by Akron police.

What revolution means to me is to expose & dismantle the current corrupt system of capitalism imperialism, not only standing up against the genocide in Gaza but also abolishing the murderous behavior at the hands of law enforcement in this country. At the current rate that cops are killing people its only a matter if time before they kill someone close to you. Abolishing qualified immunity is only one component of the revolution. We can do so much more. We need everyone to come together for revolution to be possible. So the destruction of my family due to police murder will never touch your family.

I donated today—the question is will you.

Michelle Xai, Revcom Corps for the Emancipation of Humanity - Revolutionary May Day Fundraising Match Challenge

Statement for $1500 matching challenge from Hawaii donors:

We are a group of long-time supporters of revcom.us and BA who have been celebrating revolutionary internationalist May 1st for decades.   Now, as we see conditions for revolution ripening, we recognize that while the system is crumbling and people can no longer live the way they always have, what’s seriously missing is a movement of revolutionary people in their millions capable and prepared to take advantage of a revolutionary situation, should that develop.

That is why this year we’re celebrating May 1st by putting up this $1500 match toward bringing forward a revolutionary people, even while continuing to struggle over whether making a revolution capable of overthrowing the system of capitalism-imperialism could become possible within the relatively near future.  We challenge you to join us.

Statement for $1500 matching challenge from Chicago donors:

We are a group of Revcom supporters on Chicago's northside.  To those watching the Revolutionary Internationalist May Day 2024 livestream, we challenge you to match the $1500 we have raised among us. The match, if successful, will contribute one-fifth of the goal of $15,000.  For the emancipation of humanity, join us.

Statement for $535 matching challenge from Boston donors:

@BobAvakianofficial #27 hits at a crucial point about a strategic weakness of this system and needs to be taken to heart and shared broadly. The "elite" universities play an especially specific and critical role in training the future leaders of the capitalist-imperialist system, both in the US and around the globe. Students are constantly indoctrinated with the message that the best way, in fact the only way they can make a difference in the world is thru the pathways provided by this system and at "elite" campuses that have access to the "perks and promises" that come with attending a Columbia or Yale.

When we start seeing the sustained opposition to the genocide being carried out against the Palestinian people on these campuses in the face of the mass arrests, police brutality and more, it is very important to grasp the indoctrination the students are breaking out of, and the potential this reveals. We need to be prepared to wade into this struggle with an understanding of the role it can play in contributing to bringing forward a revolutionary people and the fierce struggle that will be required.

As BA writes in the preamble to the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America

the process of making revolution, and then continuing the revolution in the new socialist state toward the final goal of communism, must involve the active participation of broad ranks of the people, of different strata, and will proceed through many different “channels,” involving many diverse forces among the people in many different spheres of human endeavor, not only those more directly political or relating more directly, at any given time, to the functioning and objectives of the leadership of the revolution and the new socialist state; and the orientation and aim, consciously taken up by growing numbers of the people, must be to work so as to enable all this to contribute, in the final analysis, to the struggle to further transform society in the direction of communism.

While he is writing specifically about the conditions in a new socialist state, his approach also applies today. This May 1st 2024 provides the revcoms with a rare opportunity to bring forward "early initiators" for this revolution. The release of the pamphlet ISRAEL AND PALESTINE, THE MIDDLE EAST AND U.S. IMPERIALISM, THE REVOLUTION HUMANITY NEEDS - A Selection of Writings from Bob Avakian, comes at a critical juncture in this struggle and can play a big role on these campuses and throughout society as a whole in this process. We hope this contribution will help towards achieving that goal.

Statement from artist who painted picture of Joe Strummer:

The central figure in this painting is Joe Strummer, lead singer of The Clash. Strummer was an internationalist and revolutionary minded. In the upper right corner a Palestian youth flees down a road away from an IDF soldier with a rifle. The words at the bottom are from the song “Washington Bullets” which was about the U.S. funding as well as supplying weapons to the reactionary Contras in Nicaragua. Over 50,000 people were killed as a result of direct and indirect U.S. involvement.

This is not so different from the U.S. support and funding of the Israeli government and military which is carrying out a genocide before the eyes of the world. This is a situation among many that as Bob Avakian has pointed out something terrible or something truly emancipating can come into being. Leaving things as they are, not acting in ways commensurate with the times will lead to something terrible. And as righteous and needed as the global protests against the genocide are it will not lead to something truly emancipating unless people go to work right now in organizing for revolution to overthrow the system of capitalism-imperialism and put a whole new system that doesn’t have to rely on exploitation and oppression to function in place. Joe said “The future is unwritten” It’s up to any decent person who gives a damn about humanity to step into this revolution with others.

Why I'm giving $50 , from a retired railroad worker:

As one gets older, one has experienced things, sometimes not knowing which way to go. As grown-ups, we need to pay more attention to things that are put in front of us—after critical examination given the times we are in—then maybe the future won't look the way it is currently headed and maybe, just maybe, a better light can shine for the future.

SF Bay Area Revcom Corps: Donate to Revolutionary Internationalist May Day 2024 Fundraising Livestream

From a $100 donor

I'm making this donation because I think that revolution is way overdue and desperately needed, not just here in the U.S.A., but also in Palestine, Iraq, Iran, China, Latin America, Congo, and so many other places on this planet.

With the ongoing genocide in Gaza (and the ratcheting up of howling settler lynch mobs in the Occupied Territories, which is likely going to escalate into an all out genocide), we are looking at a world where "might makes right", is basically the order of the day, throwing into the garbage bin, the much vaunted "principles" of  so-called democratic rights in the imperialist countries and trashing of international law established in  the post WW II era, especially around genocide.

So, we can see that "democratic rights", "human rights" are not worth the paper that it is written on, given that the imperialists have presided over and committed genocide in so many parts of this planet (from Rwanda to Guatemala to Vietnam to Gaza/Palestine) and which is why all-the-way revolution is so much needed and overdue so that humanity and the planet can have a real future.

Props to all of the rebel youth of the current generation and other people who stand with them for challenging this horrendous system and "shaking up the air." There is so much potential in these rebellions for the situation to be changed from a horribly unfavorable polarization to a polarization in which the possibility of a real revolution on the basis of the New Communism as put forth by Bob Avakian can be realized.

From a $1500 donor

Making a $1.5K donation now, knowing so much more is needed.  The Revcoms need to be out there, amidst the uprisings—standing with, and working to defend, those who stand with fearless determination in the face of threats and brutalization by this system.  Of prime importance, the Revcoms must be challenging all who see the crime of this genocide, the naked fist of dictatorship with which this system responds to its critically-thinking and courageous youth, and the endless, intolerable crimes of this system to grapple with the tremendously liberatory future WE could wrench out of this moment…the analysis that shows this, the theory and scientific approach behind it, and the real leadership that exists today to organize a real revolutionary movement and develop the basis to overthrow this system…and the role of every person of conscience in joining and strengthening this movement now!

Interview Excerpt:

Recently someone who stepped in to work with the Revcom Corps raised $130 from people he lives with in a group home/halfway house for the Revcom Corps for the Emancipation of Humanity.  We asked him about this to share on today’s livestream.

He said:

A. The $130 donation for the Revcom Corps came from a group home. Many of the guys there have their own life experiences. But the person asked me what I was doing that day, and I told them I was handing out flyers.  And they said: If I have time I will read it.  So I put it on the community table.

And the person read it and he asked: what is the message in brief?  I said it’s a social media where Bob Avakian spoke about a central topic—the emancipation of humanity, individually and collectively. So they asked how could they participate without actually being present at a certain place or time.  And I told them: photocopies are needed. There are some books—I received 2 books. And together they, using a rough math formula, made a small donation which they asked me to provide to the revcoms.  That’s how it happened.

Also I put a flyer in the front house, and the topic that started the discussion was the ability to see social injustice for what it is, the larger scheme of things, and not always making it personal. Sometimes people suffer personal injustice, but like the genocide in Gaza is so wrong that nobody has any words left to describe it. And so it was in that theme is where they gave some money… they believe in the cause—the general theme of the cause, for the emancipation of humanity, not for their personal self-interest but for the larger thing, the genocide in Gaza, the suppression of free speech. That was on the flyer….

Q. We also asked what he has been learning from the discussion of the social media dispatches from BA:

A: I have a pessimistic nature … I’m waiting for something to come along that don’t sit well with me so I could just put it to the side.  [But since I’ve been reading the dispatches,] I haven’t found that yet.  It’s not only clear, it’s fair and it’s transparent.  You could read some of the paragraphs more than once…there’s no hidden thing.  It’s simply a presentation of things that are scientific facts.  And I don’t have to agree with everything but I understand the context.  And that took me a while – reading a history book versus reading something on behalf of everyone else, the emancipation of humanity.  And so I was going to say integrity.  The integrity of the message is there… Bob Avakian, he’s been doing this since the 60s, but I also know other people who are protest leaders, they had a voice of protest, and they seem to have faded... So from my perspective it’s scientific, it’s very clear and transparent.  I like learning. I’m being objective – it’s very clear, it’s scientific, and it’s inclusive.  And I don’t know too many other leaders or too many other spokesmen who it’s inclusive – they seem to be leaving somebody out of the picture.  And BA does not do that.  It’s very clear. It’s inclusive, by people, gender, it doesn’t matter, area, demographics.  That’s what I’m learning – it’s inclusive and that’s why it’s intriguing.

Q. And finally we asked what would be his message to other people about why they should donate to the revcoms and to revolutionary internationalist May Day.

A: By donating to a cause you can support a cause and express your voice for the cause, and you don’t need to be in the front row, so to speak.  People can donate for a cause such as the revcoms have, and support the cause -- because from my experience, the photocopies are simply not free, the posters are not free, it’s just part of how things are.  So supporting a cause that one begins to believe in is important, important individually within the larger picture of everybody, like all those people in the future who will be emancipated – it will be effective, donate for the cause today for the greater picture tomorrow.

From a scientist and supporter:

Various political parties and movements, instead of listening to each other, tend to spout hostile rhetoric aimed at “canceling” each other, or dismissing each other as not being of the proper “wokeness” to know what they are talking about.  Theories in realms of political science are highly debatable, so that no one is so incontestably “correct” that others should be dismissed with contempt and not even listened to, like Democratic and Republican political candidates bad-mouthing each other rather than listening to each other and addressing their facts and logic, even if they had any.  They put on macho bombastic displays to outperform each other, like my dog in a debate with a dog behind a fence....

Progressive parties and movements regularly act this way toward more radical ones, probably for stupid reasons like worrying about alienating some of their new constituency. They are actually insulting them by assuming that they cannot deal with novel facts and logics.  The RCP is regularly treated this way.  In my long experience with treatises by Bob Avakian and observing the conduct of members of the RCP, I noted a regular conduct of listening to others’ concerns and trying to discourse civilly with them.  I remember the debate between Bob Avakian and Cornel West.  They disagreed sharply on some things but discoursed with civility and good humor.  In the physical sciences there are also theorists with sharply opposing analyses, but usually they act with civility and good humor.  An informative example of such is this discussion in cosmology over the “matter-antimatter imbalance.”  Besides being an excellent example, the subject is quite fascinating.

Revolution Books NYC Watch Party Statement for Revolutionary Internationalist May Day 2024 Fundraising Livestream

From a monthly sustainer of the revcoms

This is from a monthly sustainer of the revcoms, it is an additional donation to the 4/28 fundraising livestream. The donation is made with this statement:

"What would you give?

"What would you give to never have to check the news and see yet another Black or Latino person shot 5, 10, 41 or 96 times by a pig who didn't see them as a human being?

"What would you give to never have to see the bodies of children face down in the Rio Grande, or washing up along with seaweed in the Mediteranean or on the shores of European countries?

"What would you give to see women have the right to control their own bodies? For LGBT people and women to be able to walk with their heads held high free from the fear of rape and assault, as equals and respected members of society?

"What would you give to end the threat of nuclear war, to see nuclear weapons destroyed altogether? To end brutal genocides like the U.S.-funded war on the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, and all imperialist wars of domination and plunder?

"What would you give to be able to listen and learn from the expertise of scientists and work with them to actually tackle the climate emergency for real?

"This is not impossible if millions of people rise in real revolution to sweep this system of capitalism-imperialism aside.

"Bob Avakian has analyzed that this is a time when there is a real chance for revolution, if we bring into being a revolutionary people quickly.

"What wouldn't you give?"
