Revolutionaries Represent at Chicago’s Bud Billiken Parade

“There’s a whole other way the world could be/Make revolution, get humanity free.”

This was the chant that rang out from the truck decorated with a huge portrait of Bob Avakian and revolutionary slogans. It was led by a crew of agitators from the National Get Organized for an ACTUAL Revolution Tour and the Revolution Club of Chicago, it was shouted out by 25 people marching in the Club contingent, and it was taken up and echoed by fist-raising spectators throughout the 2 1/2- mile length of the Bud Billiken Parade in Chicago last Saturday.

The Bud Billiken Parade celebrates Black youth and provides free school supplies for the new year. The Club was there to sharply bring out that this system has NO FUTURE for the youth—but the REVOLUTION DOES. Through its sharp and enthusiastic marching in hours of heat, its creative skits along the way, its agitation booming out over the powerful sound system and chants like the one above, the Club brought out both aspects: the horror of what this system offers, and the bright future only possible through revolution and the new communism, as conceived by Bob Avakian.

As the week goes on, we’ll be writing more about this. But today we want to let our readers know of it and share these pictures and videos.
