Israel started waging war on Gaza in response to an attack by Hamas on October 7 last year. Hamas killed almost 1,200 people in Israel, including children and people who were not soldiers. They also took hostages, including 38 children. Hamas is the group that governs Gaza. Gaza is the home of over 2 million Palestinians. Their ability to leave Gaza is controlled by Israel, and it's often called an open air prison.

1. How many people in Gaza has Israel killed since October 7?

A) About 1,200 Palestinians in Gaza, including almost 200 children.

B) Almost 6,200 Palestinians in Gaza, including almost 2,000 children.

C) Over 33,000 Palestinians, nearly 14,000 of them children, not including countless more buried under the rubble of Israeli bombs and missiles.
