August 23, Gaza City, Gaza, Palestine: Israel bombed an 11-story residential high-rise building that housed 50 families. Residents reportedly were warned by Israel to evacuate the building, however 17 people were injured, four of them children and home for 50 families destroyed. Since July, over 2,000 have been murdered in Israel's continuing savage assaults on the 1.8 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The killing of Michael Brown and with 2.4 million people in prison makes clear that there is a whole generation of Black and Latino youth who have been marked and treated as a "generation of suspects" to be murdered and jailed. This is not an issue for Black people alone but for all who care about justice; it is not a random tragedy.
