A Call to Action to the 100,000 Volunteers and 1 Million New Yorkers Who Elected Zohran Mamdani Mayor of New York City

from a Mamdani supporter in NYC

COME TO DC NOV 15TH & SURROUND THE WHITE HOUSE

Saturday, November 15th at 1:00pm [The next Surround The White House date is Monday, November 17 at 3:00 pm]

Refuse Fascism is committed to peaceful protest in Washington, DC until the fascist regime is driven out.

WHY YOUR PARTICIPATION IS IMPORTANT

Almost 100,000 volunteers worked — and over a million New Yorkers voted — for people-powered politics and a vision of dignity-for-all and justice based on the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution. If the fascist regime is not stopped, what we fought for in New York will not survive. There is no alternative; this regime must be removed. There is no living with fascism in America. If not driven from power, atrocities will escalate and eventually crush all legal efforts to oppose it.

...The Refuse Fascism demonstrations are absolutely necessary and so far superior to the calls by some on the so-called left to continue to work to right the system through supporting Democratic Party candidates, such as is the work of Indivisible. While these calls may be well-intentioned, they’re like ordering dinner on the Titanic after midnight on the night of its sinking. I think that the federal government may retaliate if Refuse Fascism becomes a prominent force for pushback against the Trump administration, but waiting for the November 2026 Congressional election will be far too late. As a society, it may already be far too late. ...

These are voices of people from different perspectives taking up the call from RefuseFascism.org to be in Washington DC November 2025, in sustained nonviolent protest, growing from thousands to millions.  Coming back again and again. Not stopping until Trump is removed from power.

To see the speeches from Refuse Fascism and partnering organizations on November 5, go to youtube.com/@refusefascism.

Revolution Books Berkeley posted: “This video is beautiful and made with a lot of thought and love from Mitote from LA who has been here in DC every day since Nov 5 and has been part of building a movement for the fall of the Trump Fascist Regime! Follow them on TikTok.”

Jolly Good Ginger, Brother Cornel West, Francis Fisher, Alfonso Morales, Oye Owolewa, Matt Veteran, Dread Scott, Brita Filter, Jim Keady, early on sent in statements of support and/or part of organizing for the launch of the FALL OF THE TRUMP FASCIST REGIME mass nonviolent mobilization begining Nov 5. This Call is initiated by @refusefascism and open to all.

Waking Stone's Chant Songs 4 DC "Stop the Madness"

“Chant Songs 4 DC: Stop the Madness” is a powerful anthem and street chant that resonates with urgency and conviction. This rallying cry encapsulates the collective frustration and determination of those who refuse to accept a fascist trajectory for America. With its infectious rhythm and repetitive hooks, it encourages unity among protesters, empowering them to raise their voices in a unified call to stop the madness!

This song serves not only as a means of expression but as a tool for mobilization, inspiring listeners to stand firm against tyranny and advocate for a more equitable future. Through its passionate delivery, Waking Stone's “Chant Songs 4 DC” captures the spirit of resistance, making it a vital part of the fight for democracy and human rights.

The following is an excerpt from Atash/Fire #168 (November 2025),  journal of the  Communist Party of Iran, Marxist-Leninist-Maoist. The article was translated by revcom.us volunteers.
The Importance for the Liberation of Humanity of Defeating Trump's Fascist Regime

... Is [Trump fascism] horrifying? Definitely! What should be done? We must be prepared to fully defend the revolutionary communist forces, the leftists, and progressives in the United States, who at great risk are fighting for the fall of the fascist regime of Trump. The Iranian people, who have experienced the horrors of the establishment of a religious fascist regime in Iran, must know that these are heroes who stand up to the most well-equipped imperialist repressive apparatus, not with fear but with courage, and who call on everyone to fight for a fundamentally different future. Iranians living in the U.S. who have an ounce of desire for freedom should join the struggles of Refuse Fascism and the general movement of resistance against fascism, as well as opposing the establishment of martial law in various American cities—in particular, the struggle that begins on Nov. 5 . We must not allow the voices that have declared “In the name of humanity, we refuse to accept a fascist America” be silenced through martial law and repression.

The historic call by Refuse Fascism titled "The Time has Come for the Fall of Trump's Fascist Regime" says: “Humanity’s only hope is for the decent people of this country to rise in our millions. . …” It goes on to call on people to surround the White House and the U.S. Capitol on November 5 (the day Trump was elected president last year). The statement calls on the people not to settle for a mere demonstration, but to return to the streets again and again, to refuse to obey, to engage in all kinds of [non-violent] struggles until the Trump regime falls. ...

Baltazar Enriquez, President of the Little Village Community Council:

People everywhere should emulate the courage of the residents of Little Village and flood DC on November 5 to non-violently drive out Trump and his whole regime.

From David Zeiger: "Read the Call, Act Now!"

Dear friends,

David Zeiger statement endorsing Refuse Fascism's November 5 Call

I am writing to state my whole-hearted support for the call by Refuse Fascism to, starting November 5 (the first anniversary of Trump’s election), begin flooding Washington DC with the millions of us who have been living this past year in a constant state of shock and horror. This is an outlandishly bold call–for massive, sustained, nonviolent actions with the goal of inspiring resistance from every level of society, including in the government itself, ultimately making it impossible for the Trump regime to continue its rule.

Please believe me that I have not come to this decision easily. I have devoted the last 35 years of my life to making films, not activism. But now I agonize daily, as I am sure you all do as well, over what can be done to stop, or even slow down, this horrendous juggernaut. You don’t need me to go into details–you see them every day, and they make your stomach tie up in knots as you try to find an outlet for your fury. You demonstrate when possible, you post videos of the despicable, proud cruelty unleashed by ICE, you scream to yourself as the outrages pile on daily. Maybe, hoping for a way forward, you stare aghast (as I do) at the barrage of texts and emails from Democrats promising that if you just contribute to their campaign all will be well come next November.

It won’t.

Here is the reality I believe we face:

–No matter what your generation, we are today in the fight of our lives;

–This is the most critical moment faced by the people of this country and the world since the rise of Hitler;

–That is NOT hyperbole. Today we are not just facing Trump, but the entire Republican Party and the Christian Fascist movement that has been building and working for decades to massively reshape this country and the world in their image;

–This is no easy fight. Far from it, this will take determination and sacrifices we haven’t seen yet. But consider this: Up until now, TRUMP IS WINNING. We have got to face that reality and take huge steps in this battle to turn the tide;

–This call by Refuse Fascism and an increasing number of organizations and individuals who have been fighting Trump and his acolytes on every front IS A HUGE OPPORTUNITY to gather together all of the tremendous opposition that has been building to this regime, from every political perspective, and create a situation in which EVERYONE, including Democratic politicians, is emboldened to take a stand. If you can be there, be there. If you can’t, contribute money and find ways to spread and sustain that movement.

History is calling on us, folks. We cannot turn away. In the historic and incredibly prescient words of Mario Savio at Berkeley in 1964:

"There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"

NOW IS THAT TIME

The megalomaniac and fascist Trump has divided the country as it hasn’t been since the Civil War. He fuels the bonfire of decomposition with hatred, racism, sectarianism, and anti-humanism.

The country under his rule increasingly resembles Hitler’s Germany and Benito Mussolini’s Italy, as he attacks, above all, opponents, the working class, and immigrants with Latino faces. This historical trauma calls for profound reflection so that these sections of the people, on whom the Republican Party has declared war, unite for the liberation of this nation, once called the Beacon of Democracy, which has become an atrocious darkness of the most execrable aspects of the human species.

Prominent local, state, regional, and international leaders have pointed out with fiery intensity the profound danger Trump poses to the United States and the world.

Let’s see: In the first eight and a half months of the current administration, with Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security and Tom Homan as border czar, 17 undocumented immigrants lost their lives: 14 while in the custody of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and three during immigration raids and arrests.

Official figures have not yet been released on how many undocumented immigrants who attempted to cross the border from Mexico to the U.S. lost their lives during the current fiscal year (2024-2025), but we can get a more or less clear idea if we consider the most recent official figures (2022-2023), which indicate that 895 people who crossed the Mexico-U.S. border perished in the attempt.

Furthermore, since Trump took office, 400,000 undocumented immigrants have been deported, according to official figures from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Broad sections of the American people and the world have witnessed the violent, indiscriminate, racist, and illegal way in which federal forces arrest, imprison, and deport these workers.

We have no doubt that all of the above was an important reason for Pope Leo XIV to declare on October 1 that people who support the “inhumane treatment of immigrants in the United States” cannot be “pro-life.”

To date, President Donald Trump has ordered and deployed military troops to the cities of Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Chicago, Memphis, and Portland. Other cities facing growing threats of being targeted for increased deployment of military personnel include New York, Baltimore, New Orleans, and Oakland. Almost all of these cities are governed by Democrats.

In the midst of this socio-political crisis, a few days ago, the Secretary of the Department of War, Pete Hegseth, called an urgent meeting of the entire senior leadership of all the nation’s armed forces: infantry, naval, air, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, and space forces. The event, held in Quantico, Virginia, was used by Trump to instill in military leaders the idea that large U.S. cities could serve as “training grounds” for troops.

He then insulted the Governor of the State of Illinois, JB Pritzker, calling him incompetent. The state governor’s response was immediate, calling for the invocation of the Twenty-Fifth Amendment to remove Trump from office. This far-reaching call has already prompted other prominent Democrats to declare that the president is unfit for office, that his cognitive health is in decline, and that his recent speech to military leaders practically endorsed the idea of active-duty troops fighting civilians in U.S. cities.

Trump’s political offensive against anyone who isn’t a Republican and who does not support him “absolutely” is growing and intensifying.

Under intense presidential pressure, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a criminal indictment against former FBI Director James Comey, soon to be followed by similar indictments against former CIA Director John Brennan and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, among others.

It’s crystal clear that this latest Trumpist onslaught is directed against all Americans, regardless of race, creed, gender, or political affiliation. As we can already see, it doesn’t matter whether you belong or have belonged to any of the nation’s governing institutions.

What Donald Trump’s administration is doing to the vast majority of the American people is not only repugnant but extremely dangerous. We no longer have the slightest doubt: we have fallen prey to a rapidly advancing fascist regime. We are convinced that only the political mobilization of millions of decent people in our great nation can stop and end this fascist movement, which represents an existential threat to our democracy as we know it.

Fascism is no longer an imminent threat. It is already here. That is why, starting November 5th, the first anniversary of Trump’s election, the Refuse Fascism coalition has called on the decent people of this country to flood Washington, DC, the seat of our national government, with millions of women and men to begin the process of stopping and removing the fascist and racist Trump regime from power.

Believe us when we say that we can still prevent the consolidation of the fascist Trump regime. We understand that a good representation of people from Los Angeles will travel to Washington, DC to be part of the mass movement seeking to peacefully remove the fascist Trump regime (MAGA).

We will also be present at the seat of our national government and we encourage all members of our Latino political leadership to join us there while there is still a chance to defeat the fascist Trump government (MAGA). Let us all unite, organize, and mobilize to be present, united in Washington, DC before it’s too late.
