You have stood up, fought for and exposed the truth of what this system is doing to the Palestinian people. You have defied authority and spoken out against your country while it commits a great crime yet again, and you have stung Genocide Joe Biden and the system he represents.
We who have stood up are right: Israel with full backing of U.S. imperialist arms, money and intelligence is committing a horrific genocide in defense of an apartheid state. Those who deny this are wrong. You are right that anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism. And you are right when you say that “never again” must mean never again to anyone!
You have torn off the cover of the U.S. and Israel as “defenders of justice and democracy.” For this, the system—wounded—is striking back. This shows that our struggle has hit a nerve. The system is trying to make you pay a price for opposing their savage slaughter of human beings—including more than 8,800 children—in Gaza. Reactionary forces from Biden to campus administrations to Zionist trolls and fascist senators have slandered you and tried to silence you. They've tried to deprive you of your livelihoods, doxxed you, threatened you and tried to intimidate you.
The repressive actions against your protests show that when their window dressing of democracy begins to fail them, they come down with the hard hammer of threat and brute force—the dictatorship that they exercise over millions of oppressed people here and around the world. And this is all the more the case right now in Palestine/Israel.
We face a crossroads. As the genocidal terror against Palestinians continues, with threats of a wider war, now is not a time to tamp down our resistance in the face of such repression. Now is not the time to just focus on your homework or your career. No! Now is the time to step it up. To defend each and every one of us who come under attack but even more importantly, to spread this movement more broadly to others, make it even more daring and militant.
And now is the time to go much more deeply into the causes and solution of the problem—a real revolution to overthrow this system.

Why is Biden, and basically the entire government and ruling class of the U.S., supporting Israel in carrying out genocide against the Palestinian people, before the whole world? This is not because of “the power of the Jewish lobby”—or because of some ignorant, ridiculous and outrageous notion that “Jews are controlling everything.” It is because Israel plays a “special role” as a heavily armed bastion of support for U.S. imperialism in a strategically important part of the world (the “Middle East”). And Israel has been a key force in the commission of atrocities which have helped to maintain the oppressive rule of U.S. imperialism in many other parts of the world. Overthrowing this system means making revolution—a real revolution. Not settling for a few reforms that leave this system in place and in power, even if you call it “abolition” or “decolonization.”
A revolution means a force of millions, drawn from many different parts of society and organized for an all-out fight to overthrow this system and replace it with a radically different and much better economic and political system, a socialist system, based on meeting the needs of the people and carrying forward the fight for a communist world where there will finally be an end, everywhere, to the exploitation, oppression, and destruction of the environment that is built into this system of capitalism-imperialism. Anything less than this revolution will completely fail to deal with the root of all the problems or lead to the actual solution.
This revolution is not just necessary, it is possible—and not in some far-off future, but possibly soon, with things likely coming to a head by the 2024 elections if not before. Even as the rulers of this system are united behind supporting Israel to the hilt, they are at each other’s throats. The fierce conflicts right now between the MAGA-fascists like Trump and the “regular” war criminal imperialists grouped around Biden over how to rule this system have not been this sharp since the Civil War of the 1860s. Threats of imprisonment are traded by the two sides and even talk of open dictatorship. While these conflicts are over HOW to rule the system, the cracks created by that fight can provide the basis and real possibility for “the forces for the revolution that is urgently needed [to] grow, quickly, from small numbers to thousands, and then millions, and get in position to go for the whole thing”—with a real chance to win. There is a serious plan, strategy, vision and leadership for this revolution in Bob Avakian and in the revcoms—the revolutionary communist forces—he leads.
All those who recognize the criminal nature of this system need to be part of this revolution—now. All those who want to finally see the boot of the U.S. empire off the backs of the people of the world need to be part of shaking awake others not just to the need for resistance, but for this revolution—now.
Revolution will be hard and it will require real sacrifice. But look at Gaza, at the border, at the wildfires. Think of the existential stakes if we don't put everything we have into working to make this revolution! Then, think of what it will mean if we DO: it will be a real chance for a whole new way to live, and a fundamentally different system.
In the name of humanity, we need to fight with all we have to stop this horrific war on the Palestinian people. And to wage that fight as part of getting people ready to make revolution, now more urgent but also more possible than ever.
