Just over one week away from the important nodal point of the 2024 elections. You can read elsewhere on revcom.us about the sharpening divides, and looming clashes... the future really is unwritten. But what we do know is that whether or not millions are engaging the revolutionary leader Bob Avakian through his social media, @BobAvakianOfficial, will impact things qualitatively one way or another.
Will people know that we don't have to choose between fascist Republicans and war criminal Democrats? Will people know there's a leader with a plan and strategy for a real revolution to overthrow the system of capitalism-imperialism? Will people know that we really don't have to live this way, that there is a whole new framework for human emancipation, in the new communism? And will they get introduced to Bob Avakian—the leader who has brought all this forward?

** All across the country, be part of making our $20,000 goal by the end of today, Monday October 28! These funds—and much, much more—are essential to an online advertising campaign to make millions aware of the leadership Bob Avakian is providing. We have already reached millions loosely, with many thousands now following @BobAvakianOfficial. But this is just scratching the surface. And to build on what we've done—and go much further—will require substantial funding.
Reach people today. And not just people you think will agree, or people who are already familiar with Bob Avakian—reach anyone and everyone who cares, who is agonized about the future.

** We have launched a new advertising push on meta (Instagram and Facebook)—aimed at raising funds from brand new people. In addition to engaging BA's social media, they're being driven to the new website (linked above). It's hard to sum up impact while we're just at the beginning of the process, but to give an initial picture: We've spent $2,300 in 7 days and reached almost 100,000 people. Almost 3,000 people were drawn to looking at BA's profile, checking out some of the posts. And on Instagram, more than 120 new people followed. While we're reaching fewer people on Facebook, more than 50 people have shared one of BA's posts.
To break this down further, we are spending $75 per day per "audience" and experimenting with different kinds of audiences (based on musical preferences, news source, or political questions). Interestingly, some of the top audience has come from people who subscribe to "world star hip hop" (a platform about hip hop culture, a lot of which isn't very good).
Your donation of $75 will get the ad in front of 3,500 people daily with about 100 people clicking to learn more, going to BA's profile or clicking to view more about the campaign. A donation of $1,000 will get this in front of about 50,000 people with more than 1,000 people clicking through to learn more.
** There's also a bunch of debate being kicked off in the comments on Instagram:
– people are debating about communism vs. capitalism (one person argued, "We want individual rights in America" in opposition to "collectivism," and someone else replied, "you have fallen for capitalist propaganda.")
– there's a lot of debate about what's happening with the U.S.-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza and what is driving this. In response to an excerpt from BA’s social media message Revolution #6 about the illegitimacy of Israel, one person wrote, "Bob, you are usually hella 'based' but this is all wrong" and then went on to argue for a "liberal zionist" position (based is internet slang for really correct). A pro-Palestine account replied, "Bob, you are especially hella based for this post."
– on the post of Revolution #81, "Why I am not running for President," someone commented "realest sponsored post."
– then there are people just learning about BA, and some snarky haters, but also a few people who've said they've known about BA but clearly didn't know he was on social media. One person wrote, "I've been a fan since 1982, Bob. Still a fan today. Revolution indeed."
