With just two days left in 2024, we have $3,869 to raise to meet the $50,000 year-end goal in the campaign to get @BobAvakianOfficial reaching everywhere. This national campaign is aimed at raising funds for online advertising and an on-the-ground grassroots movement to get the vision, voice and leadership of Bob Avakian—the revolutionary leader and architect of the new communism—reaching millions.

Something historic and invaluable has been brought into being over the last year. Through his social media messages, now numbering 111, Bob Avakian has been providing real time and essential leadership. He has brought alive why humanity needs revolution, he has shown how revolution could actually be possible in this time and in this place, and he’s given a living picture of what kind of world could be brought into being through this revolution.

When people were casting about in the wake of Trump’s victory, Bob Avakian spoke with unique clarity: “Two Countries” Within This Country—And The Whole Damn System’s Got To Go! This is not a time for demoralization and despair—it is a time for righteous anger and revolutionary determination. He's spoken to why "there's no such thing as 'human nature,'" what the breakthroughs in the new communism are and why a radically different world really is possible. 

He's dug into the whole history of this country in slavery and genocide, and how that oppression and ugly exploitation carries through all the way to today. He's answered why "The system in this country is not 'democracy'" and has broken down what this system actually is. He's been struggling with the many different ways of thinking and acting that have different sections of people caught up in, and going along with, this system. He waged a historic intervention about the fact that there is "A Profound Fight for the Soul of Black People: A Defeated People—Or, A Revolutionary People?" And much, much, much more.

Through all this, he's brought alive and fought for a scientific method that masses of people can and need to take up themselves. And he's done it with humor, heart and passion. 

What Bob Avakian has been doing over the last year through his social media has been providing leadership—revolutionary leadership—giving a scientific understanding of what is happening, why and what is in the interests of humanity. He's reaching into the hearts of any and all those who agonize about what is happening to humanity, and he's providing concrete and real-time leadership to those who are determined to change it.

Leadership that millions of people need to know—to dig into, study, debate and spread.

As we wrote last week, "Bob Avakian is not just the only leader in this country even talking about making a real revolution, but he is the leader who has developed a whole new framework for human emancipation, the new communism."

And your funds make it possible to get his voice in front of increasing numbers of people.

What we've accomplished over these last months—in getting Bob Avakian in front of millions, with tens and hundreds of thousands beginning to engage—matters. And it's just a beginning.

We'll lay out here just one example of some of the difference that online advertising can make—in the scale and range of people that need to be reached with Bob Avakian's social media messages. In addition to advertising with Revolution #111, “We revcoms are serious—and all decent people need to be serious—about actually defeating this Trump/MAGA fascism,” we have been advertising with Revolution #107, “A Special Holiday Message, 2024: God-Damn the Trump/MAGA Fascists, Every One! And God-Damn Everyone Who Tells Us to ‘Get Along’ and ‘Play Nice’ with Those Fascists!”

Across all platforms, we've spent $3,000 to advertise Revolution #107. This has resulted in over 140,000 views—over 11% of whom watched the message in full (this is a high percentage for reaching a very broad audience on social media).

To break this down further, a $1 donation resulted in 50 views of this message. And a $5 donation resulted in 250 views.

While a number of comments came from fascists, a number were also thoughtful and seriously engaged: "One of the ONLY times I’ve ever clicked a sponsored video…. But I did for this one. God-damn the fascists—every one. A message worthy of spreading." "So true brother!! Preach!!" "You are brave sir, god be with you." "When injustice becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. FDT (fuck Donald Trump)." On another platform, there was some serious discussion about whether we should be trying to win over the fascists vs confront and defeat Trump MAGA fascism. And on another, discussion about communist revolution.

These kinds of experiences with advertising show just some of the potential of these messages reaching very, very widely. But they also pose real questions, which we want to hear your thinking on for 2025.

We wrote last week on the stakes of this campaign for this truly pivotal year. We also wrote about some key lessons and experiences from people across the country. 

Here, as we close out 2024, and to help with developing new plans and goals, we want to put some questions to you—our readers, and those who have been part of this National Campaign in ways big and small. 

** How do we scale these efforts up—not just reaching, but involving masses of people?

** How can the online fundraising reverberate with what's happening on the ground so that there is broad awareness of who Bob Avakian is, and the leadership he's providing?

** What can we learn from the grassroots and collective fundraising efforts—with people coming together to raise funds—and how can those spread?
