In the name of “parental rights,” a MAGA fascist assault has been unleashed on a generation of youth.
One spear point of this assault has come down on demanding that school officials be required to notify parents if a child expresses a desire to identify as LGBT.
Parents rights?
Does anyone really think, for one minute, that if a parent/guardian was genuinely concerned about the well-being of a child, or was genuinely motivated to provide a loving and supportive environment for a child, that they would be demanding these children be forcefully reported on if they so much as ask to be called something different, to explore a different gender expression or orientation?
Generations of youth have been driven to suicide, to repressed lives, or forced to flee homes and develop an entirely different culture living as pariahs in the margins because of the tyranny of “parents” seeking to impose a dark ages morality and enslaving chains of tradition. Only recently has there been a small shift in this, even while the outrages visited on LGBT people have continued. And now this faces an increasingly violent and vicious backlash.

These are OUR youth. No, not because of a communist conspiracy to go in and take away everyone’s kids. Because everyone with a heart for humanity has a responsibility to the future generations. The future is all of OUR responsibility. Making a world where people can love each other free from enforced patriarchal traditions, and where people are celebrated for their differences is ALL OF OUR responsibility. Defending the rights and lives of children who are threatened at home, on the streets, or in school is ALL OF OUR RESPONSIBILITY.
And with society increasingly being ripped apart, and these MAGA/fascists on the offensive determined to fight, kill, and die to bring into being a future, with as much violence as they deem necessary, that “puts back in their place” everyone they hate and view as less than human: LGBT people, “uppity/independent” women, immigrants, and Black people. Along with the attacks on LGBT people, and women’s right to abortion and now birth control, this same fascist movement has been moving all over the country to ban the teaching of American history to whitewash the brutal enslavement and oppression of Black people, the history of America carrying out genocide against the native people, the history of America conquering and subordinating whole parts of the world. We have to confront this for what it is: a Christian fascist assault on a generation of youth.

We need, we demand, a whole new way to live and a fundamentally different system. This is not just a dream or righteous aspiration. In the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America, authored by Bob Avakian, a radically different and far greater vision of rights and freedom is established that would back people up in rooting out all discrimination and oppressive divisions.
The bridge to that world is revolution, real revolution. And the possibility for this revolution is much greater NOW in this time when even the oppressive rulers of this system are fighting each other, and when the way society has been held together since the Civil War cannot continue to hold things together. We need to defend, and the revcoms ARE defending, people’s rights and lives from growing attack by fascists, in and out of uniform, as part of building up forces for, and re-aligning society for, a real revolution to end this capitalist system that is an unjust nightmare for humanity even before it gave rise to this fascist movement that now threatens something far worse.
Now is the time to start working with the revcoms to Fight the Power, and Transform the People, for Revolution: involving masses of people in rising up to resist the continuing crimes of this system, and defending people from attacks on their rights and their lives by racist, woman-hating and anti-LGBT thugs, in and out of government... winning people to the scientific understanding that we do not have to live this way—that this system of capitalism-imperialism is the root cause and fundamental source of all the unnecessary suffering that masses of people are subjected to, here and throughout the world, and poses a growing threat to the very existence of humanity through the accelerating destruction of the environment and increasing danger of nuclear war—and that we need to, and can, bring a whole different and much better system and world into being through revolution.
