Prisoner Writes on “The ‘Industrialization’ of Sexual Exploitation, Imperialist Globalization, and the Descent into Hell”

From a prisoner in Illinois:

Editors’ note: We at revcom.us periodically publish letters from prisoners on revolutionary theory and struggle, as well as other aspects of human experience and thought, including conditions and struggle within the prisons themselves. We appreciate and learn from all correspondence from the prisons. The opinions in the letters we publish are those of the writers and not necessarily those of revcom.us.

I just finished studying Raymond Lotta’s “The ‘Industrialization’ of Sexual Exploitation, Imperialist Globalization, and the Descent into Hell.”1 Having spent most of my life in prison, since the age of 13, one of the most sought after and valued items in here amongst a large number of prisoners is the various “Postcards of the Hanging,”2 ie., “Fuck Books,” “G-Slot Magazines,” “Paper Pussy,” etc. All of which serve to condition us to partake in the perpetuation of the global system of exploitation and oppression, especially as it relates to half of humanity.

I am 44 yrs old now, still in prison, and so it is long overdue to take on this destructive colonization and pornification of our minds. I will be putting this research booklet by Raymond Lotta into circulation for discussion and for struggle. I will share some of the feedback and responses in an upcoming letter to PRLF [the Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund].

AD sking for funds for Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund 2021.

2. The writer is evoking an analogy that Bob Avakian has spoken to, between pornography, which celebrates the oppression and degradation of women, and the "souvenir postcards" that were often produced after lynchings, celebrating the torture and murder of Black people. [back]
