“Hands off Rafah! Ceasefire now! Stop the genocide!”
With Israel threatening to invade Rafah, people around the world held protests and marches demanding “Hands off Rafah! Ceasefire now! Stop the genocide!” All across the US, in scores and scores of cities large and small, people took to the streets to express their outrage and anger at Israel's hideous, US-backed genocide of the Palestinian people.
New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago saw thousands pour out, many for the first time. In D.C. and many other cities, marches converged on Israeli consulates.
Protests were seen in cities around the world: from Caracas, Venezuela, to Tunis, Tunisia; from Tokyo, Japan to Oslo, Norway, to Perth, Australia. In London, the protests took place one day after the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, issued a threatening statement declaring “democracy was being targeted by extremists” and calling on the police to come down on the pro-Palestinian demonstration the next day.
This is important, needs to be built on and spread!
