We live in exceptional times. We are witnessing a mass extinction of species generated by the predatory nature of the capitalist-imperialist system. Furthermore, the oppressors, both in the United States and in the rest of the planet, cannot continue to live indefinitely with their parasitic lifestyle and, on the other hand, it is increasingly noticeable that the people are not willing to continue letting themselves be oppressed, and this is expressed in constant outbursts of indignation and protest.

The rebellion of the masses is justified, revolution is more and more necessary.

It is at this time that the work of Bob Avakian, his ideas and his leadership are crucial, as well as the role that the Revcoms play in bringing to fruition the revolution that is needed.

In his most recent writing SOMETHING TERRIBLE, OR SOMETHING TRULY EMANCIPATING, Bob Avakian honestly shows the scenarios before our eyes: firstly, if we do nothing, if we let the capitalist-imperialist system continue to do its thing, we will be faced with the exacerbation of fascism, racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and the depredation of the environment to nightmare levels.

On the other hand, in the times that we live in, there is a real possibility of making revolution, since there is the necessary basis and the basic roadmap to make it: The New Synthesis of Communism, which has not happened in other times in the U.S. history.

The advance and triumph of a revolution in the United States would have a profound and powerful impact on the rest of the planet.

In the context of this exceptional situation, it is urgent and crucial to help spread Bob Avakian’s New Synthesis of Communism as widely as possible, both within the U.S. and globally, so that more and more people join the ranks of the movement of millions necessary to make this revolution.

That is why I join the call for all people who feel that a radical social change is necessary, to contribute to the fundraising campaign that is being carried out to finance revcom.us and contribute in this and other ways to the extent of their capabilities, as a way to bring the New Synthesis and the work of Bob Avakian to as wide an audience as possible.

Avakian says, at the end of SOMETHING TERRIBLE, OR SOMETHING TRULY EMANCIPATING: “Dare to become part of the forces for this historic revolution. Dare to work resolutely to make this a reality. Dare to struggle, dare to win.” Let’s dare; although it is already late, we can still fight to transform our social reality in an emancipatory way.
