Pack the courtroom on May 13, 2024, at 8 am at Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, 210 W. Temple St, Dept. 51, in Los Angeles. 

Luna is a member of the Revcom Corps for the Emancipation of Humanity, LA, and former leader of the LA Chapter of Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights. She is being prosecuted for protesting against the overturning of abortion rights in 2022, calling out the fact that FORCED MOTHERHOOD IS FEMALE ENSLAVEMENT. She was arrested twice for participating in two bold and righteous nonviolent acts of civil disobedience before and after the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, demanding: “OVERTURN ROE? HELL NO!” She was arrested in June of 2022 at the Summit of Americas where Biden was speaking and in a bold civil disobedience action at LA City Hall in July 2022, where four women chained themselves to City Hall after washable red paint was poured down the steps.

Luna is the only person from those protests now facing criminal charges—four misdemeanors! On May 8, there will be a hearing on a motion to dismiss all charges against Luna as she is being selectively prosecuted based on her political affiliation (a “Murgia motion”). This is an important political battle in the courtroom and everyone who cares about fighting for the right to abortion should be in the house!

The “Murgia motion” that will be argued in court is a motion to dismiss all four misdemeanor charges against Luna on the grounds of selective prosecution based on her political affiliations. Luna was the only revcom, of the four women who participated in the City Hall action in July of 2022, and is the only one who is being prosecuted. 

What Luna did was right and righteous and should not be criminalized! Look at the situation in society today: 

* Roe has been overturned and a case in Idaho is being heard over whether or not women should be left to die if they come to the emergency room with a miscarriage or a botched abortion, making it so that it would be written into law that the life of a fetus is more precious than the life of a woman, and that her life does not matter. 

* In Arizona, a law from the Civil War era of the 1860s, where women were subordinate in every sphere of society, was dragged out to justify the outright banning of abortion and criminal prosecution of any woman who receives one. That law was just repealed, but Arizona and many other states are reviving old laws or passing new ones that basically ban abortion outright with very few exceptions. 

Luna stood up to prevent this Christian fascist nightmare where women are being slammed back to the dark ages and she is being prosecuted by a so-called “pro-choice” LA city attorney for doing so AND for being a revolutionary and a communist. 

This must not go down and the charges must be dismissed and dropped. 

Be there in the courtroom to show support for Luna and demand that NO ONE should be prosecuted for standing up for the lives of women and girls, because forced motherhood IS FEMALE ENSLAVEMENT. Spread the word about this court date.
