It is my humble opinion that the American Crime Series1 is a vital part of Revcoms’ efforts in organizing for an actual overthrow of this system. Given the misinformation the youth are taught in school and the propaganda the CIA provides to the masses both overtly and subliminally, there is an obvious need to educate the people in seeing just how oppressive the capitalist-imperialist system is. Especially since the people have been conditioned to celebrate tyrants, pledge allegiance to their flag, and view their tyranny as a necessary means to keep America “Great.”
"Did you always have this view of America?"
An excerpt from The RNL Show Interviews with Bob Avakian
Awareness is key. Many are unaware of what their tax payer dollars are spent towards. The proxy wars and exploitation of indigenous peoples around the world that they help fund. They don’t understand that their allegiance to this system enables the United States to carry out the exploitation of innocent men, women and children around the world. This is because they do not know what the many atrocities this nation was founded upon nor what it truly stands for. The American Crime series is liberating to the mind of all those who read it. This is why I believe it to be a vital part of the revolution. Re-education is mandatory. Once people see the “reality” of the United States’ role in global oppression, then they can understand the need for a fundamentally different system; otherwise, it just seems like people complain “Why fix something that isn’t broke?” Most are like fish in water. They are born in it. How can they perceive the world as anything other than that unless you take them out of the water? Only then can they get the full picture and understand the truth. The American Crime series is precisely that sort of reality-check the people need…
