To those liberals who say they support the American proxy war—yes, that’s what it is—in Ukraine because of (real) Russian war crimes, but say nothing about or are even supportive of Israel’s war against Gaza:
Do you not know, or do you not care, that more than twice as many women and children have already been reported killed by Israel in Gaza than have been confirmed killed in Ukraine, according to United Nations figures?
Do you not know, or do you not care, that according to the U.N., water production in Gaza has been reduced by Israeli bombing to less than 12 percent of what it was on October 7?
Do you not know, or do you not care, that the intentional bombing of hospitals and schools—bombing which Israel has carried out—are war crimes (according to the U.N.)?
Where, dear liberal, is the consistency in your thinking—other than in upholding morality and principle when it suits imperial interests, and quietly pushing it aside when it doesn’t?
The important point about principle is that you have to fight for it when it is not easy to do. There is no need for principle if the only time it is applied is when it doesn’t matter.
