From a Prisoner:

“If people truly want to break from this system of capitalism-imperialism, they need to wake up and give someone like BA a chance”

Editors’ note: We at revcom.us periodically publish letters from prisoners on revolutionary theory and struggle, as well as other aspects of human experience and thought, including conditions and struggle within the prisons themselves. We sometimes edit these letters. We appreciate and learn from all correspondence from the prisons. The opinions in the letters we publish are those of the writers and not necessarily those of revcom.us.

First, I would like to say thank you for your patience.  I know I haven’t been writing back the way I should, but I’ve suffered some terrible losses lately...

I’m responding now to “BA’s Interview” and “United States of Atrocity” (Part 1/Part 2). As usual BA is right on point with diagnosing the many problems facing the world today and seems to be the only person out there who has actual solutions that could solve these complex problems. The thing that stands out to me the most is the statement “a common definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” That’s all I see when I look at my people, “black people,” when I see black people’s reaction to being killed by cops, right-wing racists, and each other, having our voting right stripped away, abortion rights stripped away, the environment destroyed, and being exploited all over the world, and the best solution people can come up with is to vote Democrat, a party incapable and unwilling to deal with even the smallest of problems. This all makes me wonder if black people have Stockholm syndrome, and they’ve fallen in love not only with their captors but their captor’s crooked system. If people truly want to break from this system of capitalism-imperialism, they need to wake up and give someone like BA a chance and I suggest they start with the BAsics.
