Super Tuesday is the day 15 states hold their presidential primaries.  But the reality is that this Tuesday is not “super,” it is a way to keep you in a stupor of thinking that your real choices this year are between:

—Genocide Joe Biden, funding and backing Israel’s relentless slaughter of the people of Gaza while he threatens war with China and wages a proxy war in Ukraine with Russia;

—MAGA-Fascist Trump, threatening open violence against immigrants, LGBT people, and others while violently enforcing white supremacy, the patriarchal oppression of women and xenophobia, and tearing up the rule of law.

No! Our real choice is not between Biden and Trump who—despite their deep divides—both represent this system of capitalism-imperialism. Our real choice is between this system and a real revolution that overthrows this system and establishes a whole new way to live.

Here’s how the revolutionary leader Bob Avakian explains it:

The presidential election this year, 2024, will be a sharp focus of the fight between these ruling class parties—Democrats and Republicans—a fight that is very likely to break all out of the bounds of the “normal way” they exercise power over the people, and keep their whole system going.

This could lead to armed clashes between the opposing sections of the ruling class, which could even develop into large-scale military confrontation—a new kind of civil war. In any case, this kind of profound crisis within the ruling system is bound to affect every part of society, and every major institution of this system, including its armed forces—with the real potential for major splits in those institutions.

With those two ruling class forces fighting each other, there could be an opening for a revolutionary force to move to overthrow the system that is at the root of the horrors today. But this force needs to be built up now.
