Prisoner Writes on the Trump Indictment… and Calls on Youth and Fellow Prisoners to Get with the Revolution

Editors’ note: We at revcom.us periodically publish letters from prisoners on revolutionary theory and struggle, as well as other aspects of human experience and thought, including conditions and struggle within the prisons themselves. We appreciate and learn from all correspondence from the prisons. The opinions in the letters we publish are those of the writers and not necessarily those of revcom.us.

From a prisoner in Illinois:

I am ever so careful not to become enraptured and deluded by the celebratory atmosphere of a “Trump Indictment.” I tend to view this unprecedent indictment to be a weak and illusory attempt and move by opposing ruling class figures, at slowing or even stopping this 21st century fascist juggernaut. Sure, as we are told, a “ham sandwich” can easily be indicted, but what about when it comes to a WHOLE FASCIST PIG who is leading, calling on, and mobilizing a well-armed, fastly growing, and better organized force of “MAGA” FASCISTS IN A COUNTRY FOUNDED ON GENOCIDE AND SLAVERY? As our revolutionary communist leader, BA, has pointed in his “TALK FROM DECEMBER 2021”1:

The Republican Party no longer believes in or feels bound by what have been ‘cohering norms’ of ‘democratic’ capitalist rule in this country….

“The polarization will continue to sharpen, with forces grouped around and led by the Republican Party becoming even more aggressive in insisting on imposing, including by VIOLENT MEANS, their vision of what ‘makes America great’ with all the very real horrors, on top of horrors, that this involves.”

We mustn’t lose sight of the horrifying lessons handed down to us from the rise to power of Hitler and the Nazis. After all, wasn’t Hitler once “indicted” and even imprisoned during the 1920s, after the failed “Beer Hall Putsch”?!

In all the years that I have spent being buried alive beneath cold steel and concrete, as the result of the “normal workings” of this system, I have yet to witness, or even hear about, any ruling class Democrat of the like, touring an American jail or prison and then demanding our release before the world in the way in which Marjorie Taylor Greene called for on behalf of those who stormed the capitol.

As I bring this letter to a close, I would like to call on and encourage our youth, and my fellow prisoners, who have been conditioned and are acting and thinking in ways (just like I once did and was) that only serve to strengthen and enforce this system, to stop viewing and treating those around you as your “OPPS”, as in opposition, and start uniting and organizing with your OPPS, as with those who are OPP-ressed in ways and forms just like you are.
