This evening, two members of the NYC Revolution Club, Michelle Xai and Jamel Mims, interrupted a conversation between Eric Adams and Preet Bharara, at Cooper Union Great Hall on the future of NYC.

Why? To tell the truth, that Eric Adams is a Black Giuliani, that his war on crime is a war on the people and to call on all decent people to reject the future this system has in store for humanity, and to get organized for a real revolution, starting May 1st in Harlem.

Adams' plan to deal with crime and violence includes bringing back Stop & Frisk, the Street Crimes Units, solitary confinement at Rikers and more. This was Giuliani's program, and Adams being a Black man doesn't change what this will mean for people. More Amadou Diallos and more Sean Bells; more police terror disproportionately targeting Black and Brown people.

The way Adams has been embraced by the highest levels of the Democratic party makes clear that the Democratic Party is a Party of Piggery—its response to the massive outpouring against police brutality and murder is to give full support to carrying out more of this brutality and murder.

On May 1st a disciplined, militant grouping of people will march and rally in Harlem as well as Los Angeles to mark the International Revolutionary holiday, May Day, boldly proclaiming

NO US/NATO WAR WITH RUSSIA! NO WORLD WAR 3!
IT’S THIS SYSTEM, NOT HUMANITY, THAT NEEDS TO BECOME EXTINCT!

WE DON’T ACCEPT THEIR FUTURE
IT’S TIME TO GET ORGANIZED FOR A REAL REVOLUTION

In the face of the threat of World War 3, the looming climate disaster, the Supreme Court being poised to gut abortion rights and the program of violent suppression being pushed by both the fascist Republican party and the Democrats; this movement for an actual revolution will be representing a future where the degradation and misery enforced by this system will be no more.

May 1 will mark the first significant outpouring in this country against the actions of the imperialist powers—and in this country, especially the U.S.—which are now putting the world in danger. May 1 will mark a day when revolutionaries will put forward the full scope of the problem and call on people to come forward and get organized. May 1 must impact far beyond its numbers.

This movement is led by the revolutionary leader, Bob Avakian, the architect of the New Communism, and it has the strategy needed to make revolution in a country like this one and a blueprint for the kind of society it could bring into being—the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America. It is getting ready and in position to make this revolution happen. And it calls on everyone who hates the way so many are forced to live today, and who sees the looming disasters this system is confronting us with, to get with this movement for a real revolution because it's the only way to head off those disasters.

To everyone who can’t stand this world the way it is... who is sick and tired of so many people being treated as less than human... who knows that the claim of “liberty and justice for all” is a cruel lie... who is righteously enraged that injustice and inequality go on, and on, and on, despite false promises and honeyed words from people in power (or those seeking power)... everyone who agonizes about where things are headed and the fact that to be young now means being denied a decent future, or any future at all... everyone who has ever dreamed about something much better, or even wondered whether that is possible... everyone who hungers for a world without oppression, exploitation, poverty, and destruction of the environment... everyone who has the heart to fight for something that is really worth fighting for: YOU need to be part of this revolution.
