Three Reasons Why YOU Should Celebrate International Women’s Day

Because the hurt and the agony that so many suffer and swallow, turning on themselves, sits on top of a rage that burns to throw off that burden. Coming out to celebrate International Women’s Day is the first step to unleashing that fury, transforming anger into power against the sources of that pain—the system we live under.

Because the times we live in are leading to a terrifyingly horrible future—with the outlawing of abortion in half the country just one horrific example of what is yet to come—OR the very acuteness of these horrors could jolt and awaken the people to dare to lift our heads and fight for a truly emancipating revolution. There is leadership for this in Bob Avakian and the revcoms, there is a strategy, and there is a vision of a whole different society with a different way to live.

Because we could live a whole other way, beyond this madness—the way women are treated is not “human nature” but the nature of an oppressive system… and you can learn at these International Women’s Day celebrations how we could make a real revolution against that system, why this is possible and how we could create a radically different and far better world.

When we come together and act on International Women’s Day, we challenge others and we change ourselves. We stand up with those fighting for liberation around the world and bring the day when we can make a revolution closer.

From the genocide in Gaza, to the growing threat of world war between nuclear powers, to escalating environmental devastation… the capitalist-imperialist system ruling over us is a horror for billions around the world and is tearing up the fabric of life on earth. Now the all-out battle within the U.S. ruling class, between fascist Republicans and war criminal Democrats, is coming to a head—likely during, or before, the coming elections—ripping society apart unlike anything since the Civil War.

Bob Avakian (BA), revolutionary leader and author of the new communism, has developed a strategy to prepare for and make revolution. He’s scientifically analyzed that this is a rare time when an actual revolution has become more possible, and has laid out the sweeping vision, solid foundation and concrete blueprint for “what comes next,” in the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America.

We apply the science he’s developed to analyze and expose every key event in society, every week. Revcom.us posts BA’s timely leadership for the revcoms (revolutionary communists), including his social media posts which break this down for people every week and sometimes more. We act as a guiding and connecting hub for the growing revcom movement nationwide: not just showing what’s being done, but going into what’s right and what’s wrong and rapidly learning—and recruiting new people into what has to be a rapidly growing force.

Put it this way: there will be no revolution unless this website not only “keeps going” but goes up to a whole different level!
