"Every day this is driven home more and more forcefully and cruelly: There is no living with this Trump/MAGA fascism—it must be removed from power before it commits even more horrific atrocities and forcibly shuts down any real possibility of resistance."
This, from the revolutionary leader Bob Avakian in his social media message @BobAvakianOfficial, REVOLUTION #141: "The Time Is Urgently Upon Us Now—To Drive Out The Trump Fascist Regime!" has been borne out every minute this regime remains in power.
In the following, we focus on two dangerous ways that the regime is moving to crush all opposition—including current and former government officials, and individuals and groups standing against the regime’s actions who are labeled as “domestic terrorists.”
All Out Nationwide for No Kings Day—Saturday, October 18! All Out for Wednesday, November 5, Flood DC in Sustained Nonviolent Protest: The Trump Fascist Regime Must Go Now!
Trump Engineers Bogus Indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James
On October 9, New York’s state attorney general, Letitia James, was indicted by a federal prosecutor hand-picked by Trump. This is the second legal indictment of a political opponent of Trump, after the unprecedented charges against former FBI head James Comey two weeks earlier. James was charged with making a false statement in a bank loan document—allegations so flimsy that career federal prosecutors previously argued against proceeding with the case. James responded in a defiant statement: "This is nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system. I am not fearful—I am fearless...."
James got on Trump’s “enemies list” because she won a court case against Trump and his business organization for financial fraud. Since Trump’s inauguration in January, her office has joined with other Democratic state attorneys general in nearly 40 cases against cruel and illegal actions of the Trump regime, such as the defunding of care for transgender youth and defunding of Planned Parenthood.
As in the vindictive prosecution of Comey, the indictment against Letitia James was signed by Lindsey Halligan, who had been installed by Trump after his original appointee for U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Erik Siebert, was forced to resign when he refused to proceed with the case against Comey and others targeted by Trump. Halligan was Trump’s personal attorney.
These indictments followed a social media post from Trump in September demanding that Attorney General Pam Bondi issue indictments of Comey, James and Senator Adam Schiff, who led the prosecution of the case against Trump during his first impeachment trial in 2020. He wrote: "We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!"
The use of the Justice Department to openly go after Trump's political enemies on such clear bullshit charges is unprecedented. As we've said before, if the regime can do this to major figures among the rulers of this system, what does that mean they can do the masses of people also in their sights?
This is both extremely dangerous and, because it's such an open shredding of the rule of law, part of exposing the clearly illegitimate fascist nature of this regime to many within the dominant ruling institutions of this system and throughout society.

A Ludicrous—but Extremely Dangerous—“Antifa Roundtable”
Trump with Attorney General Bondi and Homeland Security Secretary Noem at the White House "antifa roundtable," October 8, 2025. Photo: AP
Last week, Trump presided over an “Antifa Roundtable” at the White House, gathering together top officials heading up the regime’s repressive machinery—along with a bunch of fascist instigators falsely presented as “independent journalists.” For an hour and a half, they painted a blatantly untrue picture of cities overrun with “insurrectionists” from “antifa” and other “far-left extremists” attacking ICE—while Democratic mayors and governors sat by or even helped the protests. Their claims were ludicrous—at one point, Trump declared that crime and unrest were so bad that in Portland, “You don't even have stores anymore… They put plywood on their windows, but most of the retailers have left.”
But the blatant lies have several dangerous and deadly serious purposes: to whip up their hysterical fascist social base; to shut down all dissent and protest and to investigate any organizations that oppose the regime for RICO1 violations; and to “justify” sending in the National Guard and other troops into cities where such movements have mobilized people to stand up for their rights.
This roundtable followed Trump's executive order in September designating “antifa” as a “domestic terror organization” and directing federal authorities to “investigate, disrupt, and dismantle” any operations by them. In reality, "antifa" is not an organization but a term used to describe people who take anti-fascist stands or engage in anti-fascist protest. By using the broad brush of “antifa,” Trump is going after a wide range of people and organizations—from anarchists, to groups that defend immigrants, to those who call out fascism, as well as progressive Democrats, and others—accusing them all without any evidence or with made-up “evidence” of being “terrorists” or those who abet “terrorism.”
At one point in the roundtable, DHS (Dept. of Homeland Security) head Kristi Noem equated “antifa” with major drug cartels and Islamic fundamentalist terrorist organizations: “[Antifa] is just as sophisticated as MS-13, as TDA [Tren de Aragua], as ISIS, as Hezbollah, as Hamas, as all of them. They are just as dangerous. They have an agenda to destroy us, just like the other terrorists we've dealt with for many, many years.” This is bullshit, poisonous bullshit. Many of the groups Noem lists are criminal gangs or reactionary Islamic fundamentalists that have nothing in common with the groups making up the broad antifascist movement.
Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed, “They [Antifa] beat journalists, they attack courthouses, they attack police stations, they dox and assault our law enforcement officers. The Biden administration let them commit these crimes with total impunity for years, so did Democrat leaders like Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson.” Once more, total and utter bullshit.
Trump himself said, “The epidemic of left-wing violence and antifa-inspired terror has been escalating for nearly a decade. At universities, antifa has organized riotous mobs to attack campus speakers…. these are agitators, anarchists, and they’re paid.… We’re going to be very threatening to them, far more threatening to them than they ever were with us. And that includes the people that fund them.”
All this seems to be being used as justification to go after first Amendment protected speech and protest, and Democratic Party politicians and donors.
One of the fascist influencers at the roundtable presented a burned U.S. flag—which he claimed to have grabbed from a protester at an anti-ICE protest in Portland—to Trump. Trump, greatly pleased, crowed that he had made flag burning a crime punishable by a year in prison, adding that “We took the freedom of speech away.” He was referring to his executive order in August against flag burning, which, as Gregory “Joey” Johnson (defendant in the Supreme Court case that ruled flag burning was protected speech) pointed out, “is a blatant violation of basic rights, and settled Supreme Court precedent.”
To re-emphasize what we said at the beginning, this roundtable was a lunatic spectacle of lies—but also a dangerous indication of how Trump/MAGA fascism is moving quickly against all who oppose them, and ramping up for even worse.

After the quote we began with from Bob Avakian's social media message, he continues:
The profound question with which all decent people are now confronted is: Will we rise together, in the millions, to do what urgently needs to be done, to drive out this Trump fascist regime that is a truly terrible scourge on humanity and a very serious threat to humanity’s future?
This means actively resisting—massively defying and demanding that all institutions refuse to comply with—the dictates of this fascist regime. It means rallying in even greater numbers than before on October 18 in the “No Kings 2.0" demonstrations around the country. And, most crucially, it means actively taking up the Call initiated by RefuseFascism.org, and open to all:
“The Time has come for...THE FALL of the TRUMP FASCIST REGIME, Beginning November 5, 2025, Washington DC.” The Call continues:
“Fascism is not a looming threat. It is upon us now. Humanity’s only hope is for the decent people of this country to rise in our millions. We cannot wait for future and rigged elections. We must drive the Trump Fascist Regime from power.
“Beginning November 5, the one-year anniversary of Trump’s election, flood DC in nonviolent protest. Surround the White House. Surround the Capitol. Surround the illegitimate fascist-packed Supreme Court. Come back again and again. Across the country, refuse to comply. Every person of conscience, millions of us together, grind the machinery of the fascist regime to a halt.
“Don’t stop until Trump is removed.”
