Several weeks ago, revcom.us published the following statement:

We will never succeed in having a real revolution in this country—certainly not one really worth having and that is truly emancipating for the vast majority of people—unless and until millions of people are won to become conscious followers of Bob Avakian and the new communism he has developed as the pathway and blueprint for the emancipation of all of humanity.

There are several important things in this crucial and true statement, but I want to start with what is the most important (and what is, at the same time, still the least understood and appreciated) part of that statement. The most important part of that statement is not merely or absolutely that there couldn't be a revolution without BA, but that any revolution that is not led by the new communism Bob Avakian has forged wouldn't lead anywhere good. Simply put: There is no road to human emancipation without Bob Avakian's new communism. There is no way to continue to understand and change the world in the fundamental interests of humanity as a whole, to overthrow and defeat the old order and build a new society and system that enables people to uproot and overcome all forms of oppression and exploitation, and do so in a way that unleashes and increasingly involves and relies on the masses of people in this process.

It is also true that it is unlikely in the extreme that there will be any kind of revolution here without Bob Avakian. And this matters tremendously! But, again, what matters most of all—and the context in which it is worth it and a really great thing to have a leader who can chart the road to making revolution—is that we now have what we need to be able to carry that revolution forward to the achievement of the “4 alls.”¹ No revenge. No political truth. No “ends justify the means.” No elevating the needs of one socialist country—or even the fight for revolution in one country—above the world revolution, while still appreciating and fighting for the difference a revolutionary advance anywhere can make, not just in that particular country but for the whole world process of emancipating all of humanity everywhere. No letting short term goals, even really profound needs of the people and of the revolution eclipse (and be pursued in ways that work against) the ultimate goal of human emancipation. Most of all, an epistemology² and a thoroughly scientific method that is leading and being popularized and fought for that recognizes that truth is objective, is what corresponds to objective reality, and that there is a method for determining and acting on what is true while continuing to learn from and sift what comes forward from every quarter.

Without the new communism that Bob Avakian has forged being taken up by millions and applied, there is no advance to a new epoch free from classes and exploitation and oppression, no end to the long dark night of humanity being divided into masters and slaves, exploiters and exploited, oppressors and oppressed. This needs to be known and fought for very, very broadly throughout society and the world—and it needs to become a “settled question” within the ranks of the movement for revolution (even as this will need to be continually deepened over time). This new communism is the basis on which to win the “battle of possibilities” with millions and millions, lifting their sights as a crucial dimension of winning them to come forward to fight for and support this revolution.

It is also true that, totally connected to what he has forged in the new communism, Bob Avakian is leading today in a way that is unparalleled in the world and decisive for the advance of revolution here. BA is applying the scientific approach and the strategy he has forged and he is carrying out strategic commander leadership that is piercing the fog and the appearance of permanent (and permanently descending) horrors of this system of capitalism-imperialism—pointing to the need, the basis, and the pathways to advance to make an actual revolution in this time. Bob Avakian is bringing alive—through the incredibly visionary and concrete Constitution for the New Socialist Republic In North America that he authored and through his ongoing social media dispatches and in other ways, the reality of a whole different, truly emancipating way we could be living with a new, revolutionary socialist system. 

Bob Avakian is taking on the parasitic avoidance of all this by those with more material privilege in this country, the nihilistic self-destructive reveling in this system's ways of thinking and religious slavishness by way too many who are catching the hardest hell, and other ways that people who need to be part of this revolution are being kept away from it. All of what BA is doing everywhere through @BobAvakianOfficial is providing crucial leadership for how a growing movement for revolution needs to be oriented and carrying out revolutionary agitation and organizing serious resistance to the rising fascism and fight to bring down the system that gave rise to it and bring something much better into being. There is a tremendous school of method and training in the science of the new communism that Bob Avakian is modeling at @BobAvakianOfficial every week.

It is for all these reasons that the campaign to promote Bob Avakian's leadership and his social media truly is the most important thing we have to fight through on and take to a whole, much higher and more impactful level—with regard to repolarizing all of society for revolution, drawing forward the forces for revolution, and training the strategic commanders and new communists necessary to lead a successful revolution and carry it forward to lasting emancipation.
