Revcoms throughout Los Angeles have been spreading the word about the upcoming Special Screening of Selections from The Bob Avakian Interviews, taking place on October 17 at The Hudson Theaters in Hollywood. And across the country, people have been learning from the very special role that these Interviews can play in challenging and inspiring people about the urgent need now to get organized for a revolution to break ALL the chains.

This event was a microcosm of the tremendous potential that is suppressed by the system we are currently forced to live under, capitalism-imperialism, with the catalyst for transforming the flickering flames inside the masses of oppressed and exploited people into raging fires being BA's leadership, his extraordinary ability to break down complex scientific theory while maintaining his ever-deepening visceral connection with the wretched of the earth.
The potential the Chicago Revolution Club comrade speaks of can't be underestimated.
For all those across the country taking this up, and for those in or near LA organizing others for this event on October 17, a couple points:
** As Andy Zee spoke to on this week's episode of The RNL—Revolution, Nothing Less!—Show, “Shit is crazy!” Millions are feeling that—but in response to their deep agonizing, most people are turning away, grabbing hold of dead-end solutions or throwing up their hands and just doing for self. This is what needs to be sharply challenged.
Study how Andy, Sunsara and Bob Avakian do this in this week's episode of the show—how they reach into people's deepest aspirations and concerns... and how they fight like hell with people to act on those concerns... and to look for the serious answers.
Here's the question people will not ask or answer without each of us putting back to people, “will the future be crazy good or crazy bad?” They will not recognize the stakes of this moment unless those of us who do see this make the case sharply, relentlessly and with substance. And without digging into the BA Interviews themselves, they will not see the basis for the liberating way out of the madness. Nor will they see their role in bringing this into being.
** There are 3 reasons why people should come together on October 17 to this special event. Use these with people—to invite them in, and to fight like hell with them. Get their responses. If people are moved by what's brought alive in the fact that we are facing “climate devastation... nuclear war threatened... and the direct danger of all-out fascism...” and if they're open to fact that “times like these demand a revolutionary answer” then they should get their ticket to October 17 on the spot. And if not, why not? What could be more important—in this moment—than hearing Bob Avakian who “has analyzed and developed a way out this madness with a vision and plan for a radically new society?” That's not a rhetorical question!
Ask them this. Have them answer. Then ask them to measure their answer up to the reality of whether humanity will have a future. What outweighs what? For real.
And why wouldn't you want to come together with others to dig into all this? Look: if everyone just stays off on their own, atomized and agonizing, doomscrolling on our couches, then we don't have a chance! But think of what can change when we do come together in this kind of electric atmosphere and engage, and debate the hard questions that confront people here and around the world. Again, why wouldn't you want to do everything you can to be there?!
