The charges in arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court for Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu (Netan-nazi) and his (former) defense minister Yoav Gallant are undeniable. Israel isn’t even seriously trying to deny them. 

Speaking for Netan-nazi and the whole Israeli government, on record, publicly, immediately after October 7, 2023, Gallant issued these orders to the Israeli military beginning the destruction of Gaza and its people: 

I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed.

Those orders are, as charged, war crimes and crimes against humanity. That’s how Israel’s escalated genocide took off. And it has gotten worse every day since. 

But if Israel’s rulers are war criminals, what does this make the rulers of this country?

If Israel’s Rulers Are War Criminals… What Does That Make the U.S. Ruling Class?

In his social media post @BobAvakianOfficial REVOLUTION #99, “While denouncing ‘terrorists,’ the rulers of this country openly support terrorism.” Bob Avakian poses this: 

Terrorism involves the deliberate killing of innocent people, which is something all decent people should strongly oppose.

Well, by this definition—by any reasonable definition—Israel is a rogue terrorist state, which claims for itself the right to defy international law, even to the point of committing genocide, as it is doing in Palestine.

And the fact is that Israel could not so easily, and repeatedly, carry out massive crimes against humanity and war crimes, if it weren’t fully backed by the U.S. 

And he goes on to argue, and make clear that:

Biden—and basically the entire government and ruling class of the U.S., definitely including Kamala Harris—is supporting Israel in carrying out genocide against the Palestinian people, before the whole world, not because of “the power of the Jewish lobby”—or because of some ignorant, ridiculous and outrageous notion that “Jews are controlling everything.” It is because Israel plays a “special role” as a heavily armed bastion of support for U.S. imperialism in a strategically important part of the world (the “Middle East”). And Israel has been a key force in the commission of atrocities which have helped to maintain the oppressive rule of U.S. imperialism in many other parts of the world.

If Israel Is a Rogue Terrorist State, What Is the United States?

Every crime charged against the top officials of the Israeli government has been funded, armed, and enabled by the rulers of the United States. The bombs, the missiles, the tanks. The UN vetoes blocking ceasefires. The intel to target schools and hospitals and civilians. The starvation, disease, torture, and death. The dead children and orphans.

And more than that! The U.S. is not just complicit in Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity. In the largest and most defining sense, the U.S. is the instigator of these crimes. 

Biden has put it crudely, repeatedly, directly: “Were there no Israel, America would have to invent one. We’d have to invent one because [Israel] protect[s] our interests.” 

America doesn’t have to invent an Israel. But “America” needs to fund, arm, whitewash—do whatever it takes—to maintain Israel as a nuclear-armed apartheid society, ready to enforce U.S. domination of a planet of exploitation and oppression. Or as the rulers of the U.S. put it in the most upside-down sick bullshit, they “uphold Israel’s right to defend itself.”

In short, if Israel’s rulers are guilty of historic crimes against humanity—and they are!—the rulers of the United States are even guiltier.
