I salute you comrades, on behalf of the Communist Party of Iran (Marxist-Leninist-Maoist).
First off, I want to use the occasion to say that we in our Party, seriously fight to base ourselves on the New Communism developed by comrade Bob Avakian, because we are serious in making revolution in Iran.
Many observers notice that our Party's ranks have many women fighters, who have taken it upon themselves to be emancipators of humanity.
I also take the opportunity to salute Refuse Fascism who is courageously carrying out the slogan: In the Name of Humanity, We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America.
You all know that the U.S. fascist regime in unity with the Genocidal state of Israel have unleashed death and destruction over Iran. This is an act of war by the U.S. imperialists to prepare a larger war against the whole humanity, in its rabid contention with the Chinese and Russian imperialists. They justify their crime by pointing to oppressive nature of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This war must be opposed and called out by the whole world. Yes, the Islamic Republic as a fascist theocracy, has been one of the most oppressive states in the world. We have been fighting this regime for the last 47 years. Particularly, women have never paused on this fight. Everybody can see for themselves that how we have beaten back this regime on the mandatory Hejab. Their thugs have been put on the run by women. We are planning to do the same with Fascist thugs of the U.S. if they dare to put their foot on the ground. The Islamic regime has tried to build up its case for legitimacy by pointing to cruel and subjugating nature of the U.S. imperialism. We know this since the 1953 coup by the U.S. in Iran and these Islamic fundamentalists were a party to that coup. We are determined not to let either side to capitalize on our deep and hostile political and social hatred of both Islamic Republic and the U.S. imperialism.
Both of them use religious oppression in order to beat women into submission to their rule. The subjugation of women is the story of half of humanity who is born into slavery. As comrade Bob Avakian in his most recent article, which is extremely important for these extreme times, writes: "The conditions that this system has created and continues to enforce, resulting in horrific oppression of women in many different forms, has as its other side the potentially crucial role of women in bringing about a positively radical, revolutionary solution. "
Our Party has just published a document called The Strategy for Revolution in Iran. This is a work of great importance for these momentous times. It highlights the foundational social forces that form the backbone of our revolution—among which women hold a central and decisive place. The conditions imposed by the capitalist system, both in Iran and globally, generate horrific and often unimaginable forms of oppression against women. Yet these same conditions also give women a vital potential role in bringing this system to an end.
Women are among those who can break with the ruling ideas of the current order, who can be transformed with revolutionary understanding and under revolutionary leadership, and who can become organized fighters for a new society. They have enormous potential to contribute to the emancipation of humanity as a whole.
The Woman, Life, Freedom uprising in Iran in 2022 revealed only a glimpse of the power embedded within this strata and the transformative effect it can have on the way society relates to itself.
This uprising provoked not only the disgust of the Islamic Republic but also of the Zionist-monarchist fascists—many of whom are based in the United States. After aligning themselves with the U.S. and Israeli military aggression on Iran, these zionist monarchist fascists, launched a campaign against Woman, Life, Freedom, echoing the rabid rhetoric of MAGA fascists, such as the reactionary slogan “Your Body, My Choice.”
We see the Islamic Republic mobilizing religious fundamentalists to violently enforce traditional patriarchy on Iranian women. And today, MAGA forces in the U.S.—the so‑called cradle of democracy—are rabidly attacking any basic rights women had achieved in the past.
Once again, the similarity of these two distinct forms of reactionary regimes is another proof that, eliminating patriarchal/male supremacy and women’s subordination within the framework of the capitalist system is impossible. Because it is deeply woven into the structure of capitalism, it cannot be uprooted simply by replacing one regime with another one.
We have another way, a revolutionary way to open. For this, let us Break the Chains and Unleach the Fury of Women as a Mighty Force for Revolution. Long Live March 8.
“Nowruz”—Poem for the Persian New Year by an activist of the Communist Party of Iran, MLM
Revcom.us editors’ note: The following poem was posted on Instagram in Farsi by the Communist Party of Iran, Marxist-Leninist-Maoist, on the occasion of Nowruz, the Persian New Year based on the spring equinox which has been celebrated for 3,000 years. It was translated to English by revcom.us volunteers.1
Nowruz
The red hyacinth is one symbol of Nowruz. Graphic created for revcom.us by a volunteer.
From the bright steps of the sun, we rise,
With hands full of blossoms,
And a smile that never settles on the dust of despair.
Here we stand, at the threshold of a new beginning,
With hearts that still tremble
From the cold memories of the past.
Yet our hands
Reach out toward the light,
Because we know—
Spring
Is not only in the turning of seasons,
But in the beating of our hearts.
It is there
That hope
Blooms without permission.
