Overturn Roe? HELL NO! at Barclay's Center
Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights Protest Interrupts WNBA Game
Six supporters of RiseUp4AbortionRights.org ran onto the court during the June 7 WNBA game between the NY Liberty and the Minnesota Linx holding green bandanas, the symbol of abortion rights which came out of Argentina and spread across Latin America and now the world.
In the stands was a banner: OVERTURN ROE? HELL NO! Others carried signs saying Abortion on Demand & Without Apology!
OFF THE SIDELINES, INTO THE STREETS! Activists disrupt business-as-usual at @nyliberty game at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY. "Stop the Supreme Court from Overturning #RoeVWade."
Video and news reports indicate the protesters received a standing ovation and sustained cheers for their message.
Sunsara Taylor, an initiator of RiseUp4AbortionRights.org and co-host of the RNL—Revolution, Nothing Less!—Show on YouTube said, "To sit back and go about life as usual as the state rips away women's right to control their own bodies, reproduction and lives is unconscionable. We are millions, if we Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights visibly, undeniably and nonviolently, we have the power to STOP the Supreme Court from overturning Roe v. Wade. Forced motherhood is female enslavement. Now is the time to Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights!"
Harry Edwards, civil rights activist, renowned sociologist and supporter of the movement, said recently, "Assaults on Roe v. Wade constitute an existential threat—a threat to the continued existence—of women’s sports! Women’s sports advanced on two legs: the COMBINATION of Title IX in 1972 AND Roe v. Wade in 1973. The demise of EITHER would end Women’s sports participation, but most critically it is Roe that must be preserved. The pool of female athlete prospects AND active female athletes could be devastated!"

RiseUp4AbortionRights Calls for #Green4Abortion Wave in U.S.
June 9 Mass Protest at Summit of the Americas
What: Mass protest at Summit of the Americas
When: Thursday, June 9, 3:00 pm
Where: LA Convention Center
“From South to North America: Abortion on Demand and Without Apology! Overturn Roe? Hell No!”
RiseUp4AbortionRights.org is a national organization calling on people in our millions to get into the streets NOW to “make clear, through massive non-violent resistance, that we will bring the gears of society to a grinding halt before we allow the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.”
Michelle Xai, a leader of a national Spanish language collective with Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights, now in LA to protest at the Summit said, “With just days or weeks from the Supreme Court announcing their decision, women in the U.S. MUST rise up to STOP this. We take inspiration from the women in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Colombia who have waged fierce determined mass non-violent struggle in the streets in a #Green4Abortion wave to de-criminalize abortion.”
Announcing plans for the week, she said: “We are bringing that #Green4Abortion wave here to the U.S.”
Leaders from Latin America will be assembling in LA for the Summit where—despite massive protests throughout many of these countries—abortion and the conditions of women are not on the agenda. “Biden is presiding over a country that is poised to rip away abortion rights, which means female enslavement.” said Xai. “If Roe v. Wade falls, this will strengthen the woman-haters around the world including in places like El Salvador, where women's wombs are a crime scene, as hundreds are imprisoned for miscarriages. This will be the future for women here if we do not get in the streets to STOP the Supreme Court from overturning the right to abortion.”
