“On Schools tryna teach about racism to teens and pre-teens”
Prisoner from Texas
It is important that schools are now embracing teaching teens and pre-teens about Racism. They should have been done that. Still, I believe that to teach the whole truth about Racism you have to teach about its correlation to capitalism.
You cannot properly teach about racism without including the fact that: racism was a historical invention and used as an economic tool to justify the hyper exploitation and oppression of Black people and people of color. How it was through this, that the primitive wealth was gathered and gave rise to the system of capitalism. This is not only history, but a defining factor in how racism is kept alive today, as something justified by and for Capitalism-Imperialism and its accumulation of wealth.
As Bob Avakian says, you cannot end racial oppression without ending the capitalist-imperialist system!

Why are we in the situation that we’re in today? There are some things that have changed but only slightly. There [is] no more slavery (for those not in prison). Women now get to join the labor pool more and even get to have higher positions in politics as well as in a corporation.
Religious fundamentalism keeps us in and with Draconian laws, and keep woman down. Also keep us letting the father of the house be head of the house due to the Bible. The direction + dynamics of these actions of our founding fathers eventually make the poor + those people of color not able to voice our opinion and maybe one day [be] dropped off or sent to another country. Remember what England did w/their convicts, founding Australia.
It’s the system, I now realize due to BA and PRLF [Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund], that cannot change. It’s all built into Capitalism/Imperialism. It’s the hunger for more dominance, more money, more stepping on and kicking the poor + other races even lower. It's hate in their hearts!
Yes, BA’s analysis is right on! He explains why and how come slavery ended. Why blacks are the most race in prison. That’s crazy that that’s the best way they can exploit blacks and the poor! Who can make a 5 figure bond or even pay for an effective (expensive) lawyer? Texas prisons exploit us inmates due to the 13th amendment and I quote Section 1 “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” So our families have to send us money for commissary and even to pay medical expenses.
The quote from Leonard Pitts is True! BA’s response to it sounds about right. This country is split in two. I can’t believe that the richest people are from rural areas in the U.S. It’s crazy how they pack people into neighborhoods and ghettos. A lot of people in those hoods, so to speak, have never left the hood and don’t know anything outside of the hood. It’s very poor and gangs run a lot of the streets. I’m from Sterling, Illinois. I was in a gang and had been to those hoods + lived in a couple in Chicago. All I cared about is my gang and nothing else mattered. The government and racism pretty much is responsible for how street life is. Cops get to kill us and get off scott free or put us in prison on trumped up charges!
So it’s a “Let’s make America White again”—I mean “great again.” LOL
“How do I push for the liberation not only of my brothers physically but also mentally?”

I’ve been getting the [revcom.us] newsletters for about 2 years now, a lot of them are rejected for what the plantation deems a threat. Anything that educates in a powerful & liberating way is usually banned…. I’ve been inside these human warehouses almost 14 years. I was locked up as a child & I never understood that, although I did commit my crime, there was a system in place that would ensure that the odds were against me. It has taken me to go thru so many trials to get to the point where I am now, where I want to be someone who stands for the people, is a voice & a motivating factor in a positive change. Still I am not perfect, have flaws, but I’m working towards being the man I want to be. I’ve studied over the years, educated myself in many fields, but what I’m drawn to most is the Revolution. I actually have George Jackson, Malcolm X & Bob Marley tattooed on me.
How do I become part of this? How do I push for the liberation not only of my brothers physically but also mentally? My release is fast approaching. I want to build a foundation w/you guys or ladies now so I have a platform to be for the people. I enjoy your newsletters of love that you all actually put boots on the turf & push the mission.

…The scientific method is concerned to teaching us to recognize the serious dilemma that humanity is facing right from the continuous assault. I believe that his [BA’s] account of this reality is clear, because he is very enlightening, insightful and informative. I think that it is very important for us to take the positive and constructive advice that Bob, give us concerning this oppressive system, because they cannot resolve our problems on the basis of the capitalist, and imperialist “democracy” that has been the “normal” means of capitalist rule under “America” dictatorship for so long.
I agree that we should declare a revolution to bring about a change. Instead of lashing out with individual acts of hate and frustration, or attempts to take on this system with small, isolated forces that have no chance of succeeding. We need to pour that anger and hatred for injustice into building the movement that will have a real chance to defeat the capitalist system to bring about change for all the peoples. Because the capitalists control the system of election, and every other dominant institution that perpetuate racism in this country to oppress blacks and other people of color.
I realize and understand that voting for the ruling class parties of Democrats or Republicans that is representative of this system of capitalism, imperialism who are determined to keep this oppressive system going, despite, and with a real threat this poses to the existence of humanity. We should not succumb to a capitalist and imperialist system that don’t have us at their best interest, because this could be more detrimental than beneficial to us.

I am a Caucasian male with some heritage to the Native American tribe Blackfoot. I am also a practicing Sunni Muslim. Now I have always had a sort of dream growing up in an oppressed, poverty-stricken neighborhood and that I could bring the world together as one! I am highly against racial discrimination and any sort of abuse towards women and the modern-day enslavement of our people. Me and a Muslim brother of mine YY tend to have discussions about topics such as race, religion, or ongoing issues in this so called “system” we live in and many other things. While one day we were discussing the ongoing issues dealing with the minorities (i.e. police brutality, judicial system, MDOC, etc.) and the impact it has made. I started telling him how when I get released from prison I wanted to start something up to make a difference towards our people and this system. He handed me these articles about “Revolution Nothing Less” and said “Check these out.” Let me tell you WOW!
I was extremely exuberant about this New Revolution, so he gave me your information and said “write them and ask to get on board” and receive these articles myself. So Here I am! Also I’ve seen Bob Avakian has some books and would like to know where and how I can get them. His work is articulate and captivating to me and I would Love! to be a part of this Revolution and help in any way I can.
It is time to make a Change and it’s desperately needed. Bob Avakian has shined a whole new light on the perspectives of these ongoing issues. It is Brilliant how he puts the facts and problems out there to give the people true understanding about this so called “system” we live in, and how it’s time to emancipate that system.
I have been truly astounded by this Revolution and hope I can join the Cause and fight for the emancipation of this system, and when it manifests I want to exult in the outcome that is sure to come after. I give my thanks to everyone apart of this revolution and especially to Bob Avakian for making it possible to us ALL.
