“Over the years PRLF/revcom has been more instrumental in my political revolutionary growth than any book I own—BA [Bob Avakian], PRLF and revcom do not merely criticize the system but also present an alternative that would best serve humanity as a whole, a system not controlled by a wealthy few at the expense of the majority. The work and goal of PRLF and revcom is critical which is why I tend to share the packets with others under one condition... They study and discuss it afterwards and then pass the packet onto another person & discuss the articles.”

“Thanks for the enlightening literature. I passed it along to others to read as well. We are in constant need of revolutionary literature to keep us inspired, to play our part, and how we are not alone in the struggle. I am proud of y’all and comrade B.A. [Bob Avakian] It’s time to fly above the horizon now! Please continue to send me more literature—I leave as I came, a Revolution—Nothing Less mentality.”

Every two weeks 750 prisoners throughout the U.S. get a 22-page newsletter compiled by volunteers of the Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund (PRLF) from the most recent articles at revcom.us. These incarcerated subscribers also receive “Something Terrible, Or Something Truly Emancipating” by Bob Avakian (BA), pamphlets like “A Declaration, A Call to Get Organized Now for a Real Revolution,” and BA’s “This Is a Rare Time When Revolution Becomes Possible—WHY THAT IS SO, AND HOW TO SEIZE ON THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY.” Every year dozens of books, like BAsics, The New Communism, Ardea Skybreak’s Science and Revolution…, BA’s memoir From Ike to Mao and Beyond: My Journey from Mainstream America to Revolutionary Communist, and many others are sent out in response to requests from prisoners.
PRLF is a vital resource for prisoners. Prisoners cannot freely access revcom.us or any other websites or social media on the internet. So PRLF is an important way that revolutionary literature, and in particular the work and leadership of BA, spreads among those incarcerated in America’s hellholes. 94% of the 120 prisoners who answered a PRLF survey said that they share the Revolution newsletter with others, often many others. So the reach of this revolutionary literature is magnified several times over.
Here are just a few of the responses to the question “Do you share your newsletter of articles from RevCom with others?”
Yes, absolutely, and with great joy. I share it with family and friends along with the inmate population and I also leave packets once I’m done with them in the high trafficked areas in the unit to hopefully educate more on RevCom and BA.

Of course! It’s around 900 people in here. So that’s 900 revolutionaries if people would wake up and stop daydreaming. I spread the message to anyone who will listen.

Yes I do—my cellmate and I—give them to those we know will read the literature and pass it on because we now know it’s our duty to help with this cause.
