Break The Chains! Unleash The Fury Of Women As A Mighty Force For Revolution!
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2024
Years ago, Bob Avakian, the revolutionary leader and architect of the new communism, made the far-sighted analysis:
The whole question of the position and role of women in society is more and more acutely posing itself in today’s extreme circumstances—this is a powderkeg in the U.S. today. It is not conceivable that all this will find any resolution other than in the most radical terms and through extremely violent means. The question yet to be determined is: will it be a radical reactionary or a radical revolutionary resolution, will it mean the reinforcing of the chains of enslavement or the shattering of the most decisive links in those chains and the opening up of the possibility of realizing the complete elimination of all forms of such enslavement.

Bob Avakian: Break ALL the chains
An excerpt from The RNL Show Interviews with Bob Avakian
Around the world, the oppression of women cries out—from the ripping away of the right to abortion in the U.S. to the crushing, for now, of the heroic rebellion in Iran against the forced veil. And around the world, the suppressed fury of women rumbles beneath the surface—swallowed, turned inwards, distorted... but with explosive revolutionary potential.
This needs to be manifest. Revcoms, and all those fighting for a better world, should start making plans for International Women's Day 2024—in what must be a pivotal year, a turning point for revolution.
The revolution that, as Bob Avakian has said, “could happen—not just in some far-off place and time, but right here and right in this time we are living in.”
Just look at the world for women:
The Dark Ages theocratic oppression of women rooted in the Bible or Quran lash out ever more aggressively— in the U.S., Iran, Poland, El Salvador and more. In the U.S., women are legally subordinated to the status of breeder and incubator with the right to birth control under attack. In the last year and a half, tens of thousands of women who were victims of rape were forced by the state to carry a child against their will.
“Traditional” patriarchal gender roles are violently enforced, with vicious demonization and stripping away the basic rights of LGBTQ people. Trans women in particular face high murder rates and dehumanizing attacks.
The answer from the mainstream imperialists is no answer at all. Rape and sexual assault run rampant. A few women are told to be a “girl boss” on the backs of the masses of women around the world who are super-exploited in sweatshops, fields, and extremely low-paid service work. While some jobs have been opened up to some women, most women work while shouldering the burdens of childcare and maintaining the household. And even those women who do “make it” are often subject to sexual harassment and worse, at work and at home, while all women are demeaned in society as a whole.
There is the horror of international sexual slavery coupled with the normalization and lie that prostitution and pornography represent “female agency.” While rape culture and misogyny are virulent, perverse and pervasive: from femicide to hip-hop to catcalls to Andrew Tate shaping the minds of millions of young boys and men.
To all this, we say: NO! Women are not bitches, ho's, punching bags, sex objects, breeders or incubators. Women are full human beings. We refuse to accept slavery in any form.
Another world is possible! The Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America written by Bob Avakian provides a vision and concrete blueprint not just for the “full legal equality between women and men, but beyond that in the declared orientation and policy of this Republic to overcome all 'tradition’s chains' embodied in traditional gender roles and divisions, and all the oppressive relations bound up with this, in every sphere of society, and to enable women, as fully as men, to take part in and contribute to every aspect of the struggle to transform society, and the world, in order to uproot and abolish all relations of oppression and exploitation and emancipate humanity as a whole.”
The revolution to bring this society into being is more possible now. The oppression of women and oppression based on gender and sexual orientation is stitched into the seams of society. These seams are being ripped open one way or another... and soon. Either for the positive… or the extremely negative.

Come together. Act. Learn. Struggle.
