The Revolution We Need, the Leadership We Have, and a Role for You to Play—NOW

Welcome to REVOLUTION, at revcom.us, the website of the revolution.

Yes, revolution. Not band-aid reforms, not shuffling around the faces of those who enforce this system… but REVOLUTION. The articles in this issue, as they do in every issue, bring out the crying need for a total change of systems—for revolution. In this issue, we cover:

* How police murders have actually gone up in the last few years, despite the massive demonstrations of two summers ago and the bullshit political promises of the time, and how these murders continue to especially target Black, Latino and Native youth…

* How the elections solved nothing—and in some important ways actually made things worse—in regard to the lived reality of tens of millions of women in Republican-fascist-controlled states who lost the right to abortion due to the Supreme Court decision of last June…

* How the truly hellish refugee crisis has gotten still worse…

* And how the imperialist proxy war in Ukraine between the Russian and U.S. imperialists has raised the risk of nuclear war to the highest it’s been in 50 years…

Add to all that the fact that there is a serious fascist movement which has already extended its grip over key institutions (like the Supreme Court) and is not only determined to take full power but is hardening itself… a movement which would make all these horrors far, far worse… and you will understand why this website says REVOLUTION—NOTHING LESS!

A REAL Revolution

As A Declaration, a Call to Get Organized Now for a Real Revolution puts it,

[T]here is a way to a world and a future that is worth living, and is worth fighting for right now: revolution—a real revolution, not playing around with a few changes that leave this system in place and in power, while benefitting only a small number. A revolution means a force of millions, drawn from many different parts of society and organized for an all-out fight to overthrow this system and replace it with a radically different and much better economic and political system, a socialist system, based on meeting the needs of the people and carrying forward the fight for a communist world where there will finally be an end, everywhere, to the exploitation, oppression, and destruction of the environment that is built into this system of capitalism-imperialism. Anything less than this revolution will completely fail to deal with the root of all the problems or lead to the actual solution.

This Declaration—along with Something Terrible, Or Something Truly Emancipating: Profound Crisis, Deepening Divisions, The Looming Possibility Of Civil War—And The Revolution That Is Urgently Needed, A Necessary Foundation, A Basic Roadmap For This Revolution, by Bob Avakian; Organizing for an Actual Revolution: 7 Key Points; and other important work—goes on to make the case that not only is revolution needed, but that in these times we are living now, that revolution is more possible. As the Declaration says:

This system is in real trouble, caught up in crisis and conflicts for which it has no easy or lasting solutions. Throughout this country the workings of this system have given rise to deep divisions which cannot be resolved under this system. Society is being ripped apart. Those who rule are locked in a bitter fight among themselves, and they cannot hold things together in the way they have in the past. Although there are a lot of bad things connected with this and it could lead to something really terrible, it is also possible that we could wrench something really positive out of it—revolution, to put an end to this system and bring something much better into being.

The Leadership We Have

That Declaration goes on to make this essential and crucial point:

To make this revolution a reality, we need leadership with the scientific method, the strategy and program that can shine a light through the madness and chaos that this system is constantly creating and can lead in carving the path forward out of this madness to the radically new world we need. AND WE HAVE THAT LEADERSHIP—IN BOB AVAKIAN (BA). BA is the architect of a whole new framework for the liberation of all oppressed people and the emancipation of all humanity: the new communism. We are followers of BA. And you need to become followers of BA too. There never has been a leader like this in this country and there is no other leader like this in the world now. We cannot afford not to follow this leadership if we ever want to get free and put an end to this madness.

Watching these Interviews… showing them to others… spreading the word about them—THIS is the most important thing that you can be doing right now to bring about a whole different—and whole better—future. Go here to see all three. This week we are giving special emphasis to Bob Avakian’s answer to the question of what would he say to those youth who live life on the desperate edge. We show the response to this from members of the Revolution Club in Chicago who have been working with those youth, and some of whom came out of that life. Go here for that segment of The RNL Show—and show it to people you know, as a way to bring BA to them and to raise money.

These interviews are nothing short of a game changer (see here and here). They will open you up to a whole different way of understanding and changing the world. What’s more, these interviews will show you how to struggle with other people to get out of their comfort zone and actually take part in the huge society-wide battle over what must be done: an emancipating revolution. Support the Movement for Revolution

The movement for revolution has launched a major effort to raise funds. This coming weekend of December 10 and 11 marks a major kickoff of that effort—with projects of different kinds, including fund-raising parties and dinners, designed to raise funds and to get this winter-long effort under way. This is a chance to come together—“in real life” or on line or just “in spirit”—in a major effort to step up this revolution.

* What difference would it make—and what would it be worth to you—to build up this website? Revcom.us makes the work of Bob Avakian available to the whole world. It analyzes world events and brings out the underlying dynamics and contradictions in those events, how they are rooted in this system of capitalism-imperialism, and how these events relate to the struggle to overthrow that system. And this website also enables you and others to find out about what the revcoms are doing to build this movement for revolution and how you can be part of it, weaving together a network that could extend into every part of society… preparing for revolution.

* What difference would it make—and what would it be worth to you—to support the comrades on the Get Organized For An Actual Revolution Tour as they prepare the ground, prepare the people, and prepare the vanguard—get ready for the time when millions could be led to go for revolution? From the genocide in Gaza, to the growing threat of world war between nuclear powers, to escalating environmental devastation… the capitalist-imperialist system ruling over us is a horror for billions around the world and is tearing up the fabric of life on earth.
