This last weekend, revcoms across the country kicked off REVOLUTION—NOTHING LESS! WEEK, a week to get real revolution known everywhere, and to build up the organized forces for revolution.
We're going to share some initial lessons so far, and more on plans—so everyone reading this can take part.
First, briefly step back to what we're facing: Climate catastrophe getting terrifyingly worse... war and the threat of nuclear war, and now a genocidal slaughter of the Palestinian people by Israel, fully backed by the U.S.... the direct danger of all-out fascism with this possibly coming to a head one year from now in the elections of 2024, if not sooner.
The world urgently cries out for revolution—nothing less.

The Strategic Orientation and Practical Approach from the revcoms, REVOLUTION—Building Up the Basis to Go for the Whole Thing, With a Real Chance to Win lays out:
All this is heading toward, and could soon become, an all-out crisis in this country, with the very nature of society, and how it is governed, being directly battled out in a way that hasn’t happened since the Civil War in the 1860s. This could lead to something even more terrible than “normal life” under this system—making life even more unbearable, or even impossible, for the masses of people everywhere—but there is also this very important positive potential: In this situation, the forces for the revolution that is urgently needed could grow, quickly, from small numbers to thousands, and then millions, and get in position to go for the whole thing—IF the revolutionaries have been getting out the message broadly among the people, shining a light on the deeper reality of what is happening and why, bringing out that there IS an alternative to living this way, and struggling with people to break with all their wrong ways of thinking and get with the revolution.
And that is what we are determined to do.
This is what needs to advance in a big way this week to put revolution on the map.
One major obstacle is if the revolutionaries are not scientifically recognizing, and doing everything possible to seize on, this changed situation. In an important essay, “Revolution: Major Turning Points and Rare Opportunities,” BA emphasizes that “simply going along carrying out ‘routine’ work in the name of revolution, actually lacking any revolutionary orientation and sense of urgency—'tolling the bell’ timelessly, like monks in a monastery, paying no attention to the larger developments in the world, and in particular the way the fundamental contradictions of the ruling system are becoming much more acutely posed than in ‘normal times’—this will result in failure to grasp the potential this opens up for revolutionary advance and will lead to throwing away the rare opportunity.”
Key Lessons So Far
While the REVOLUTION—NOTHING LESS! WEEK has just started, there are a few key things we've learned and want to share:
** We're not just spreading the word of this revolution (as important as that is), but are aiming to organize people into the revolution.
You don't need a whole stage of calling meetings, getting back to folks later—the world doesn't have time for later. Involve them on the spot. The Points of Attention for the Revolution (POAs) are a form of mass participation in the revolution—and people should be struggled with, yes on the spot, to live by them all week.
Show them a clip from the BA Interviews, talk with them about how they can be part of spreading this. If people really can't stick around, invite them back to a street corner meet-up later that day, or find out when they can connect and make an appointment right there and then.
We'll be acting together nationally to go out boldly and broadly among masses of people continuously, drawing in more people and building momentum through the course of the week.
** Key to shaking people awake, moving and struggling with them is sharp and compelling agitation—speaking directly to the people we're fighting to reach. We should know what we want to say, but work together to say it in ways that make sense to people, show the connection to the revolution we need, provoke them, move them and give them ways to act.
The leaflet and slogans for REVOLUTION—NOTHING LESS! WEEK provide a good outline for agitation, in addition to a wealth of materials and guidance from BA. BA is modeling how to reach people and how to challenge them. If you've never done this kind of thing before, talk about it with others, study how BA agitates and try to apply that. If you're on your own, or there's just a couple of you somewhere, DM @therevcoms or email getorganizedforrevolutiontour@gmail.com and we can help!
** The urgency to seize the “rare time” we're in, when a real revolution in this powerful country has become more possible, should infuse the whole way we're stepping. If there's more than one of you reaching out, then you're not a collection of individuals. Work together as a collectivity and a team. Pause periodically and interrogate whether we're having the necessary impact and reach. Shake things up and experiment with how to really reach people. Sometimes when people stop to learn more, they want to talk to us one-on-one, but we should be striving to pull people together in a group discussion—we're not going to build up the forces for revolution one-on-one but through forging a bigger and growing we. To the greatest degree possible, go through the POAs, or watch the BA Interviews pulling people together (vs. a collection of individual discussions). Send us your thinking on this, what lessons you're learning, and what questions you're running into!
Last week, on The RNL—Revolution, Nothing Less!—Show, the show's host, Andy Zee said: “Revolution—Nothing Less Week must not be a time of just small, incremental advances for the movement for revolution. This can and must be a time when we are making big leaps in impacting society and organizing people into the revolution. The situation is urgent and it also opens up the possibility for more and more people to get with the revolution.”
We look forward to learning from what we're doing together all across the country! Send your pictures and videos and you may be featured on The RNL—Revolution, Nothing Less!—Show.
There's not a moment to waste!
