Here, we lay out four ways this Trump fascism has escalated on a global scale this week alone. What follows underscores the extreme urgency of thousands growing to millions in Washington, DC in sustained nonviolent protest to drive the Trump fascist regime from power declaring:

Trump Must Go NOW! 

1. Trump Orders Nuclear Weapons Testing—Frightening Insanity That Makes It Even More Urgent to Drive This Fascist Regime Out NOW!

Donald Trump is an unhinged and demented fascist with his finger on the nuclear trigger, and he just ramped up the nuclear danger which threatens the existence of humanity itself. Last week, just before meeting the head of a rival nuclear-armed power, Xi Jinping of China, Trump posted: “Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately.” 

Actually, none of the world’s three top nuclear powers—the U.S., Russia, and China¹—have done any full-scale explosive testing of nuclear weapons since the 1990s. The U.S., Russia and China have maintained and “improved” their nuclear systems through computer simulations and testing of component parts, short of exploding a real weapon.² So what he meant by testing “on an equal basis” was very unclear.

But if Trump actually does order full-scale nuclear weapons tests, that will compel other nuclear powers to test their weapons in order to keep pace. And that would touch off a horrific new nuclear arms race as these powers scramble to outdo each other in the destructiveness, accuracy, and reliability of their nuclear weaponry.

This is utterly mad and immoral. A new war between any of these nuclear armed imperialist powers—which could erupt through cold-blooded calculation or by accident—could spell the end of humanity.

Trump is not the first U.S. president to brandish the nuclear sword—in fact, the U.S. is the only country to have used atomic bombs in war—against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War 2, massacring hundreds of thousands of mostly civilians and poisoning the earth for generations. But the fact that the presidency is now in the hands of fascist Trump makes the situation even more dangerous. Trump’s unpredictability and impulsiveness—along with the slavishness of those under him to his every twist and turn—makes it more likely that a nuclear war could start through miscalculation, or even in a fit of Trumpian ego. And that makes it even more urgent that people come together in massive nonviolent resistance to DRIVE OUT this fascist regime… NOW!

2. Trump Threatens to “Go Into” Nigeria with “Guns-a-Blazing”

On November 1, Trump accused the government of Nigeria of allowing the “killing of Christians” in that country. And he not only threatened to stop all aid but said the U.S. may “go into” Nigeria with “guns-a-blazing.” In a disgusting display of vicious inhumanity, he said he is ordering his “Department of War” to “prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious and sweet…” This comes after Ted Cruz, the Christian fascist U.S. senator from Texas, accused Nigeria of “mass murder” of Christians and called on the U.S. to take action. 

There are complex contradictions and conflicts among Nigeria’s population of 220 million, including armed clashes between different groups and sections of the people. The Islamic fundamentalist group Boko Haram is active in parts of Nigeria as well as neighboring countries. But the picture Trump paints of Christians in Nigeria being overwhelmingly targeted is false. As the Associated Press notes: “Attacks in Nigeria have varying motives. There are religiously motivated ones targeting both Christians and Muslims, clashes between farmers and herders over dwindling resources, communal rivalries, secessionist groups and ethnic clashes. While Christians are among those targeted, analysts say the majority of victims of armed groups are Muslims in Nigeria’s Muslim-majority north, where most attacks occur.”

But as with anything these Trump/MAGA fascists do, facts and truth don’t matter. The Christian fascist core of MAGA claim that Christians are figuratively being “burned at the stake”—in the U.S. and around the world—and so they have to aggressively fight this “persecution.” This is the classic method of fascists claiming to be “victims” who need “retribution,” which is essential to forging a fascist base. In reality, it is Trump/MAGA fascism that is viciously persecuting immigrants, women, LGBT people, people of color, and progressive voices in this country—and threatening and attacking the people of the world.

3. Trump Continues Murder Spree on the Oceans with the Danger of U.S. Strikes Inside Venezuela

The Miami Herald said on October 30 that Trump has decided to strike military installations inside Venezuela—and these strikes “could come at any moment.” According to the Herald, one source went further, suggesting that regime change could be coming for Venezuela: “[Venezuela’s president] Maduro is about to find himself trapped and might soon discover that he cannot flee the country even if he decided to. What’s worse for him, there is now more than one general willing to capture and hand him over.”

Trump denies this, but he has assembled the largest U.S. military deployment in the region in decades, including over 10,000 troops, warships, surveillance planes and fighter jets, and an aircraft carrier. And he authorized the CIA to conduct covert operations inside Venezuela.

At the same time, the Trump regime's lawless killing spree on the Caribbean and Pacific waters off of Venezuela and Colombia continues without letup. “War Secretary” Pete Hegseth announced on October 27 that the U.S. military attacked four boats in one day off the coast of Colombia, killing 14 people, leaving one survivor. Two days later, U.S. forces murdered four more people on another boat in the same area. That means the U.S. military has now summarily executed at least 61 civilians in international waters in less than two months. 

This fascist regime alleges that the small boats are carrying drugs headed to the U.S., and therefore committing acts of war. There is no evidence for any of their accusations. Even if there was actual evidence, the serial killings being carried out by the Trump regime are violations of international and U.S. laws. Drug smuggling, even if proven in court, would not be legally punishable by death! And if there was evidence for this crime, those suspected should be arrested and given a trial—not blown to bits by missiles on Trump’s say so!

On October 31, a spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights delivered a statement condemning these U.S. strikes: “These attacks and their mounting human cost are unacceptable. The U.S. must halt such attacks and take all measures necessary to prevent the extrajudicial killing of people aboard these boats.” 

Under U.S. law, the President is required to brief Congress within 48 hours of any military action. Trump did finally do a briefing—on October 29, two months after starting their murder spree. When the regime finally did hold a briefing, at first they shut Democrats out, and only Republican senators and congresspeople were involved. This is part of the regime's moves to totally liquidate any legislative oversight on executive power—and to treat anyone besides them as illegitimate. They finally did hold a limited briefing with Democrats the next day, but the Republi-fascists have repeatedly blocked any attempts by the Democrats to vote on these illegitimate and illegal murders.

As we wrote last week, these lethal attacks on the seas and imminent threats to Venezuela and its president, Nicolás Maduro, are the initial salvos in a strategic effort to reestablish Central and Latin America and the Caribbean as U.S. imperialism's “sphere of influence.” They are out to consolidate Latin and Central America into a political and economic fascist bloc with the U.S. at the head. And they are being compelled by strategic concerns that China, the U.S.’s top nuclear-armed imperialist rival globally, has become a dominant economic force in Latin America.

Trump's bloody serial murders on the seas—and threats of even bigger war crimes against Venezuela and other countries in the region—are completely lawless and illegitimate. These moves pose extreme danger to the people of Venezuela, Colombia, and to all of Latin America and the whole world. 

4. Only White People Need Apply: Trump Drastically Limits Refugees Coming into the U.S.

The Trump regime announced last week that the U.S. will limit the number of refugees allowed into the country at 7,500 per year. Last year the limit was 125,000 refugees! And that number is a small fraction of more than 42 million refugees worldwide in 2024. So many people have been driven from their home countries because of reactionary wars, political persecution, devastating poverty, and drought and other disaster caused by climate change. These are the products of the system of capitalism-imperialism, which the U.S. sits on top of, but no matter, this fascist regime is slamming the doors on desperate people seeking out basic survival. 

As a further expression of the open white supremacy of Trump/MAGA fascism, most of the available 7,500 refugee admissions will be filled by white South Africans—based on the total lie that there is a "white genocide" taking place in South Africa.

As Bob Avakian said in his social media message @BobAvakianOfficial REVOLUTION #117: Trump/MAGA fascists—cruel, demented, dark ages oppressors—who twist reality inside-out to “justify” their lawless tyranny: 

Trump’s racism is so blatant and perverse that he openly sides with white racists from South Africa, who claim they are “persecuted” as a result of the end of apartheid, which for generations subjected the masses of African people there to horrific, murderous oppression for the benefit of a small white minority. Now that apartheid has been ended in South Africa, Trump welcomes, and gives special, favored treatment to some white South Africans as “refugees” into the U.S.—promoting the lie that these white South Africans are “victims” of “racist oppression”—at the same time as he is slandering and violently persecuting immigrants from non-white countries.

Moreover, a proposal on refugees from Trump’s State and Homeland Security Departments called for prioritizing Europeans who have been “targeted for peaceful expression of views online such as opposition to mass migration or support for ‘populist’ political parties.” This is another total lie, painting neo-Nazis like the German “Alternative for Germany” party as “victims.”

At the same time, Trump is revoking the temporary protected status for hundreds of thousands of people whose home countries—Haiti, Venezuela, Afghanistan and others—are too dangerous for them to return there because of wars and political persecution. This means Trump aims to deport them directly into situations where their lives would be at risk.
