In February, the revolutionary leader Bob Avakian wrote:
What is happening now is that Trump is moving to make this a dictatorship, not of the ruling class as a whole, but of a certain—fascist—section of the ruling class, to the exclusion, and with a determined vendetta against, the other (“bourgeois-democratic”) section of the ruling class. At the same time, this can have tremendously negative consequences for the masses of people—because, to put it in basic terms: If the fascists can do this to people who have been part of the ruling class, think of the implications for what they can do to “ordinary people.”

This has only intensified in these last months. Here are just some of the ways that the fascist Trump regime is targeting the "bourgeois-democratic" section of the ruling class:

** The regime threatens judges. As Trump has faced some court rulings against his fascist assault, he and other top figures in his regime have ramped up their attacks on judges. Trump has called judges “evil” and “lunatics” and raised the possibility of impeaching them. Last week, after the U.S. Court of International Trade made a ruling blocking some of Trump’s tariffs, Stephen Miller—one of the architects of Trump's fascism—said the decision was a “"judicial coup" and said, “We are living under a judicial tyranny.” Because one of the judges in that court was one that Trump himself appointed in his first term, Trump went on a tirade against the ultra-right-wing Federalist Society and one of its leaders, Leonard Leo, who had a major hand in Trump’s picks for judges, including for the Supreme Court. Trump called Leo a “sleazebag” who “probably hates America.” He blamed the Federalist Society for “the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations,” and said that “This is something that cannot be forgotten!” This shows important fractures among the fascists themselves. These attacks have also fed a mob-like atmosphere against federal judges with hundreds of threats being reported against judges nationally.
** Democratic congresswoman charged with felonies. On May 20, Trump’s Department of “Justice” said they were charging New Jersey Democratic Congresswoman LaMonica McIver with two felonies. What is the supposed “crime” that she committed? Earlier in May, McIver and two other congresspeople had gone to an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) prison in Newark to carry out oversight of treatment of immigrants held there, as they are legally permitted to do. They were accompanied by Newark Mayor Ras Baraka. A crew of masked federal agents surrounded Baraka—outside the ICE prison fence—to arrest him for trespassing, shoving McIver and others in the process. The Trump regime dropped the misdemeanor trespassing charge against Baraka—but McIver is facing serious charges of “assaulting, resisting and impeding an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and a Homeland Security Investigations special agent.”
** Nashville mayor under investigation for “aiding and abetting illegal immigration.” In early May, ICE and the Tennessee Highway Patrol carried out a week-long operation in immigrant and Latino neighborhoods in Nashville. They made 468 traffic stops and arrested nearly 200 people, claiming they were going after “criminals” but refusing to release the actual names of those they arrested. Democratic Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell criticized the operation, saying that federal officials had “shown us no proof” that those arrested had criminal records. O’Connell has also voiced support for a charity group that provides food, childcare and other assistance for families affected by the ICE sweeps. That was enough for MAGA Tennessee Congressman Andy Ogles to call for federal investigation of Mayor O’Connell and declare, “If you’re helping violent gangs destroy Tennessee by obstructing ICE—you belong behind bars.” On May 27, Trump’s “border czar” Tom Homan said on Fox “News” that he “cannot confirm or deny if ICE is investigating” O’Connell, and added: “Everybody that wants to push back against ICE, we’re going to pay a lot of attention to them.” Homan also threatened to retaliate against O’Connell and Nashville by “flood[ing] the zone” with even bigger immigration raids.
** Trump regime threatens to put ex-FBI head Comey “behind bars.” James Comey, who was fired as head of the FBI during Trump’s first term, is among the top names on Trump’s “enemies list.” As head of FBI, Comey led investigations into Trump’s dealings with Russia, and after his firing, Comey openly spoke against Trump and called him a “liar.” Now Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, one of the key members of Trump’s fascist cabinet, says Comey should be jailed, accusing him of “issuing a hit” on Trump. This is after Comey’s post on Instagram (since deleted) in which he shared an image of seashells arranged in the form of the numbers “8647.” (“86” is a slang term that can mean “get rid of or reject,” and Trump is the 47th President.) MAGA fascists then falsely accused Comey of promoting the assassination of Trump. This was a complete lie and a distortion. On Fox “News,” Gabbard said, “James Comey, in my view, should be held accountable and put behind bars for this." Kristi Noem, head of Homeland Security, also said her department and the Secret Service are investigating Comey’s post. And FBI head Kash Patel said his agency “will provide all necessary support” for any such investigation.
** Top Trump henchman accuses Illinois Governor Pritzker of “inciting violence.” At a fundraising dinner in New Hampshire on April 28, Democratic Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker blasted Trump for the attacks on immigrants and other outrages, and also spoke against “do-nothing Democrats” who weren’t putting up a fight against Trump. Pritzker said, “Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. I AM NOW. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace...” The next day, Stephen Miller—hardcore American Nazi and top advisor to Trump—told a reporter that “[Pritzker’s] comments, if nothing else, could be construed as inciting violence. This war that Democrat governors and mayors are waging against federal law enforcement. I mean, this is nullificationist behavior. This is secessionist behavior.”

These fascist attacks need to be opposed, and those under attack need to be defended. And think again of the serious implications that Bob Avakian spoke to:
If the fascists can do this to people who have been part of the ruling class, think of the implications for what they can do to “ordinary people.”
Fascism has direction and momentum. It must be defeated, before it's too late!
The Trump Fascist Regime Must Go NOW!
In the Name of Humanity, We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!
Trump is moving to make this a dictatorship, not of the ruling class as a whole, but of a certain—fascist—section of the ruling class...
by Bob Avakian
In my article U.S. Constitution: An Exploiters’ Vision of Freedom, along with its essential exposure and indictment of the whole system of capitalism-imperialism and its development in this country, there is the following, which has real importance now in relation to the Trump fascist juggernaut:
In general, the rights and the restrictions of power established in the Constitution of the newly founded United States revolved around preventing arbitrary rule by despots and the concentration of too much power in one person or one part of the government. The “separation of powers” and the “checks and balances” of different branches of government was seen as a way of insuring that the government would serve the interests of the capitalist class and (at that time) the slaveowners as a whole. [Emphasis added]
