Today, Tuesday, June 23, 2025, following an airstrike by Israeli fighter jets on Evin Prison, parts of the administrative buildings, medical facility, and the Security office of the prison's prosecutor's office were severely damaged. A section of Ward 4 has collapsed, windows have been shattered, and due to the rush of prisoners to the lower floors to save their lives, many have been injured. The prison's medical facility has effectively been destroyed, and there are no basic access/facilities/remedies for treating the injured in the ward. The prison authorities are refusing to send the injured outside and have effectively left the injured prisoners without any care.
Meanwhile, security forces and prison guards, with a large presence inside the wards, have turned the environment into a highly security and repressive one, instead of providing aid/assistance. Threats, intimidation, and repression on the prisoners have been increased, especially following the [Israeli] attack.
Outside the prison, the main roads leading to Evin are blocked, preventing families/relatives of prisoners from reaching there. Nevertheless, a group of families has gathered in front of Evin Prison despite the danger.
We, the besieged and defenseless prisoners, declare:
We had no place to escape from the bombardment, nor from the organized crimes [of Iran's regime] that have kept our lives and dignity under the boots for years. We call on the people, families, and all awakened consciences: Do not remain silent. Gather now in front of Evin prison to save our lives. We are wounded, threatened, and we may lose our lives at any moment.
